About

Got a free hour? Impromptu tells you what to do with it. Open the app and instantly see real things happening within walking distance — restaurants open now, live events and shows, parks, cafés, and more — ranked by how close they are and how much time you've got. No endless scrolling. No planning. No mood quizzes. Just tell Impromptu how much time you have — 30 minutes, an hour, or the whole evening — and it shows you a handful of great options nearby, each with photos, ratings, walking time, and a tap-through to directions or tickets. WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT • Real, verifiable places and events — every suggestion links to Google Maps or Ticketmaster, so nothing is made up • Filtered by your time — see only what fits the window you actually have • Walking-distance first — everything's close enough to just go • A map view to see what's around you at a glance • Save the spots you want to come back to • Tap "Show me something else" for a fresh set anytime Impromptu is built for the spur of the moment — when you're out, a little bored, and want something good to do right now.

What's New in Impromptu!

1.4

August 20, 2026

Impromptu now finds a lot more of what's actually around you. More kinds of places. Night clubs, comedy clubs, karaoke bars, wineries, ice rinks and more can now show up. The app simply never asked for them before, so it could never suggest one. Genuinely nearby. Results are ranked by distance rather than by how famous a place is anywhere in the search radius — so you get the neighborhood spot a four-minute walk away, not the landmark across town. Time filters that work. How long a place takes is now worked out from the place itself. Picking "30 min" used to return food and nothing else; now it spans parks, galleries and quick stops too. Open when it says it is. Much stricter about opening hours, so no more suggesting a museum at 2am — while late-night food and music stay available when they're genuinely still trading. Browse answers "right now". Shelves are ordered by the hour, so you don't open Browse at breakfast to a row of tonight's concerts. Better tailoring. Tailor your picks in a card flow, with indoor/outdoor and "something new" options. Share a place. Send somewhere to a friend with a card that links back into the app. Plus more accurate categories and pricing, and better ranking throughout — independents over chains, and fewer one-look landmarks holding the top slot.
