Independent Speller

Independent Speller is a talking letter board for people who do not speak, or who communicate more easily by spelling than by talking. Tap the big letters to build a word or a sentence, then tap Speak. The app reads it out loud in a clear voice. That is the whole idea, and everything else stays out of the way. HOW IT WORKS - Large, high-contrast letter keys that never move - Tap Speak to hear the message out loud - Numbers and an emoji page, without the letters ever shifting position - Type and Speak, so a caregiver or partner can type a longer message - Adjustable voice, speaking speed, and softness - Optional word suggestions, turned off by default so the board stays identical every time THE KEYS NEVER MOVE Motor planning matters. Letters stay in exactly the same place on every page and in every state. The app opens in landscape and stays there, so the board a person learns is the board they get, every single time. Nothing jumps around mid-sentence. A RECORD OF WHAT WAS SAID Messages are saved to a private log on the device with the date and time, so progress is not lost. Tap any past message to hear it spoken again. The log can be exported as a readable transcript grouped by day. SHARE THE DAY'S NOTES Save a short list of family members, then send the day's messages as a single digest using your own email app. You review it and press send. The app never sends anything on its own. WORKS OFFLINE The whole app is stored on the device. No account, no sign-in, and no internet connection needed. That matters for a communication tool. YOUR WORDS STAY ON YOUR DEVICE There is no cloud, no server, and no analytics. Messages and the log are kept on the device only. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing is sold or shared. One purchase.
