About

Index Talk is a clean, fast mobile reader and toolkit for index-investing community discussions. It aggregates publicly-available threads from multiple community sources — including Bogleheads.org and Reddit's r/Bogleheads, r/personalfinance, r/financialindependence and r/investing — and ships with on-device calculators for the math you actually need: compound growth, safe withdrawal rate, three-fund allocation, and Roth vs. traditional break-even. Features • Multi-source home feed — browse the latest threads across Bogleheads.org and four Reddit investing communities from a single screen • Per-source toggles in Settings → Data Sources so you only see the communities you care about • Read full discussions — every reply in order, in a clean reader-mode view • Native search across the indexed catalog, no login required • Save topics for later, with a per-thread "+N new replies since you saved" badge • Resume reading exactly where you stopped on long threads • Adjustable text size with full iOS Dynamic Type support • Spotlight integration so you can find a saved topic from your home screen • Home Screen widget showing the latest active discussions in three sizes • Automatic dark mode, pull-to-refresh, share, open in Safari Native tools — included, on-device, no network • Compound Growth — project a portfolio's future value with regular contributions • Safe Withdrawal Rate — Trinity-Study draw-down with inflation adjustment • Three-Fund Allocation — bonds / US / international split for your age and risk tolerance • Roth vs Traditional — 401(k) break-even with current and retirement tax rates • Index Investor Glossary — 34 bundled terms across philosophy, investing, taxes, retirement, and behavioral finance Who is it for? • Index-fund investors following the three-fund / two-fund portfolio model • Early-retirement planners, tax-aware accumulators, retirees on glide paths • 401(k) / IRA / HSA optimizers, Roth conversion planners, Social Security claimers • Anyone who prefers reading long-form investing discussion without desktop clutter How it works Index Talk fetches publicly-readable forum and subreddit threads on demand from third-party community web sources. The app does not host, modify, or republish any content. All posts remain the property of their original authors and are subject to the upstream community's own terms of service. The app is read-only — no account creation, no posting, no credentials handled. Index Talk is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Bogleheads.org, the John C. Bogle Center for Financial Literacy, Reddit, Inc., or any of the linked communities. All third-party trademarks are the property of their respective owners; we use names only to describe the source of the content displayed. Moderation The app implements a full UGC moderation surface: a first-launch zero-tolerance Terms of Use sheet, per-post Report and Block buttons, a topic-level moderation menu, an in-app "Email moderation team" link, and Settings → Moderation management for blocked users, hidden content, and your filed reports. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Privacy & Ads We show banner ads via Google AdMob to keep this app free. AdMob may collect coarse device info and your advertising identifier (IDFA) — only with your permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Decline and you'll still see non-personalized ads. We also collect anonymous usage data (screens viewed, reading time, search terms, settings changes) tied only to a per-device install ID stored in the iOS Keychain. We never collect your name, email, IDFA, contacts, location, or any cross-app identifier, and we don't share this data with third parties.
