No sound

Seems is hasn’t been updated in years. There is no sound so basically useless but a nice idea.

Words don’t play?

Hi, when you click the speaker icon - none of the words play?

Nice idea but…

…the sound doesn’t work. Looking forward to trying to learn some Saami but it’s no good without sound. Ok tried on older iPad sound works with iOS12, but no sound on iPadOS 15.

No sound

I was excited to try this app for saami language. I’m not getting any sound and there are no options for changing settings. I also was looking for support and can’t find anything online properly to contact tech. I feel disappointed.

Works as it should

I have been trying to learn Basque, and I was going to make a bunch of flashcards on Quizlet, but then I found this application which has everything

Great Idea- Needs Technical Updating

I LOVE the idea of the app, these are dying languages and as a Sámi, learning Northern Sámi is important to me.
However, I can’t even get into the app without it kicking me out. It states it’s either timed out or had a interface error.
I hope the issue resolves soon, and that feedback is taken from other reviews as learning a language is difficult even with all the information, much less if there is stuff being left out!

Pros and Cons

I am Saami and have been trying to find a way to learn more about my heritage and language. It has been difficult to find and even have the opportunity to learn a little about the saami language.
Although this is amazing and is great for endangered languages I think it needs more if you really want to be able to speak saami semi-fluently. It is more of an addition to basic lessons. I still think you should install it and have some fun but if you really want to learn you have to know some basics.

Doesn’t work

Audio doesn’t work. Can’t hear the pronunciation of any words.

Amazing!

I think this app is a fantastic idea and a great way to teach endangered indigenous languages! If I could suggest any improvements, it would be to include a full list of the words in each section with their translation. I think it would help to be able to familiarise yourself with some of the words first before jumping straight into the Flashcards. Also I’d like to suggest an option to hear a slowed down version of the pronunciation because sometimes I think it’s a bit quick and hard to understand.

Great interface, easy to use and understand voices

Tapadh leibh a Coinneach!

Two of my interest

Finally found this. I am interested in Cornish and Scots as part of my family history. In addition Basque is taught locally, this will be a great resource if I pursue Basque.
I continue to learn, the sound portion is great for pronunciation.

This is amazing!

I’ve been searching AGES for this! And it’s here! Duolingo doesn’t have this, so I’m happy that there is a place to learn Northern Sámi!

Update: The Sound Is Not Working.

Difficult to use

To start, let me say that I very much appreciate the spirit behind this app. As a saami who has had trouble finding a way to learn my heritage language, I appreciate the effort put into this. However, the interface is simply poorly designed. It assumes you already know the basics of saami, even in the “beginner” lessons. It does not teach verb or adjective conjugations, which are very important in saami, and it seems to be simply for review. It does not save your progress, and overall is not useful for building up your knowledge from nothing.

A fantastic language learning app

Very useful, fun and easy to use to learn the indigenous languages.

Top!

Finally something half decent for basque with quizzing and revision elements.

Brilliant!

Simple to use, with lots of useful customisation to suit all learning styles. Great app!

More please

I can already tell this will be a big help in my Sámi learning!

Splann

A good app to pick up when you a few minutes spare.

Great app

I really enjoy the interface, and I can tell it’s helping reinforce my learning. Meur ras bras!
