Great product and app
The smarttemp really helps my anxiety especially when my little one is sick. It really was hard to fight the urge to constantly check their temperature- but now I basically am! But with my phone! My little one doesn’t seem bothered at all by wearing the smarttemp and we both get to actually sleep. Also there is an alert for fever spikes so I know I’ll know right away if something bad happens in the middle of the night!

Terrific App and Product
Received Smarttemp box set as a baby shower gift and we love it. We had no idea a thermometer could do so much. Bonus features- logs history of fever and we can share info with our sitter or Dr. It also helps keep track of medication dosages. We’ll never have to wonder again, did we or didn’t we? I’d recommend to other parents!

Waste of 50$
Will not even connect to my phone I’m only 2 inch’s away waste of money
Great but needs a few things
I really liked the TempTraq temperature monitors but they only last 24 hours and then you throw it away and they were much too expensive to get for every fever. The adhesive also gave our girl a rash, and Smarttemp doesn’t. We have had this for a year and we use it every time the baby has a high fever overnight. We can check if she is too high and needs Tylenol without waking her.
The puck works great and the battery life is fantastic. We once lost it for a week outside of its little pouch that turns it off and we still have a ton of battery left. The light on the puck bothered her so we put a small square of electrical tape over it and it stays on the puck even with the sticker we use to stick to her.
The biggest problem is the app. The interface is fine but for the life of me we cannot get it to talk to another phone in real time. I am sure it’s user error but it is hard to do. Also it doesn’t have range all the way across our house, so we leave the iPad near her room and check it that way. It will drop connection sometimes but it works well for us. I just wish I could check it on my phone from bed, but I have to get up and look at the iPad.
I also wish the puck had some memory so that when it reconnects it gets the data that was missed, even 60 seconds worth would make a difference. The TempTraq held for hours, but maybe that’s why it was so expensive.
I really like this product and I really hope they continue to make it and thrive so they can get bigger and better. With a young toddler in daycare who gets sick regularly this is a critical product for our family.

Great theory - needs better connection
My son had febrile seizures so this product was right up my alley. The item is not terrible but here are a few things I noted.
1. The Bluetooth disconnects way too often.
Mines does reconnect for a bit then disconnects again. I need consistency.
2. The pads I feel are too small to secure the device to baby - somehow it managed to fall off at three am.
3. The device is an axillary temp. Keep in mind temps can differ from ear and mouth by 0.5f - 1f so if you want to know when baby is at 100 set your alarm to 99.

Connection
My phone won’t ever connect. DH’s will half of the time. Very disappointing.
Won't connect
Terrible connection. We are one room away and it will not connect via Bluetooth.
Would be excellent if...
Great hardware, but this app's software is lacking. I works well as a non invasive baby temperature monitoring system, but due to its low power usage Bluetooth 4.? The phone has to be within 10 feet of the thermometer. It has this feature called remote monitoring where you can see the temperature and hear the alarms from another phone, and there is where the problem lies.
Unfortunately it seems that it only updates the temperature on the other device very infrequently. I couldn't figure out exactly how often but maybe every 30 mins. When. You are concerned about the temperature of your baby I. The other room at night that much of a delay is disappointing, especially considering it is a tiny bit of data it has to send.
It would be excellent if the polling was faster maybe every minute at the longest.

Works but not realistic
In theory this is a great device. Alarm settings are fantastic when temp is on the rise.
Downsides:
1-doesn't work from baby's room to our room, distance is too far so phone needs to be left nearby on high volume so we can hear alarm from a distance.
2-alarm doesn't sound if phone is on silent or in do not disturb mode so if phone is left near baby's room, any incoming call/text would disrupt baby
If this device could work on silent (vibration rather than audio) and work more than 10ft away from child it would get 5 stars.

Peace of mind!!!
To all the sleepless mommies and daddies out there, grab yourself some peace of mind with this gadget. When my son got the flu and ran a fever for a couple of days, having this product that notified me when his temp. was rising was god-sent. Especially at night, not being able to sleep and being a zombie during the day was not an option that I wanted, but with this... I was able to get a couple of hours of sleep and still know that Smarttemp was keeping an eye on my kids! Every home with children should have one of these. It also helps you keep track of medications, doctors appointments, it has alerts and alarms, and a report tracker. It's an awesome product. From one parent to another, save yourself some heartache and get a Smarttemp, you won't regret it!
