Missing basic features & poor support
Infuse is missing features that free alternatives include. To make matters worse, support is completely unresponsive — even for paid users.
A must have for PLEX servers
I am using a basic PLEX server at home but high-quality 4K video with audio such as Dolby Atmos seems to give PLEX issues on the viewing end. It was recommended that I try the Infuse app. It is amazing and handles anything that you throw at it! So much easier to use that VLC setup with PLEX or other media servers is a snap. Love this app!

- collections feature
- ability to view collections as per plex (when i have several films by one director in a collection i'd like to view those films so i can watch them in chronological order)

I’m writing to express my disappointment with the fee policy for mobile devices. Mobile usage should be free, as none of the premium features will ever be applicable on mobile devices. I will never use any of the premium features on mobile, so I will not be paying for them. I hope you reconsider your decision.

Best Video Player

Don’t upgrade to version 8.5.3
Used to be my go to app. Updated to version 8.5.3 and videos stopped playing. No issues if playing it on plex or VLC. No fix available yet and support has not been responsive. This is a classic if it’s not broken don’t fix it!
Best video player for iPhone
Infuse is easily one of the best video player apps I’ve used. The interface is clean, smooth, and easy to use, and it supports a wide range of video and audio formats. The playback quality is excellent, subtitles work really well, and the library organization makes managing movies and TV shows incredibly convenient.
I especially love how smoothly it handles high-quality videos without lag. Overall, it feels like a premium video player with a great user experience. Definitely worth trying if you watch a lot of movies and TV shows on your iPhone.

Enable previous/next video control on lock screen and control center
I promise that once these issues are fixed, I will change my rating from ⭐️ to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
The two features I’m referring to are:
1. When a video is playing in the background, I want to be able to skip to the next video or go back to the previous video directly from the Lock Screen and Control Center media controls.
2. These previous/next video controls are currently disabled, which makes background playback less convenient.
Please consider adding/enabling these controls. If this is fixed, I’ll gladly update my rating to 5 stars. Thank you!

Fantastic streaming option
Infuse makes streaming a personal media collection seamless. Connecting to a local NAS over SMB is straightforward, playback is smooth with virtually any video or audio format, and it automatically fetches beautiful metadata and artwork. The interface is clean, polished, and responsive—easily the best media player available on Apple devices. Highly recommended!

Best video player app out there
Like it so much I paid for Pro. Plays everything you throw at it. Reads from my external USB drive. Playback gesture controls are very intuitive. Please add a sleep timer where the video playback – even if in a playlist – can be configured to stop after a certain time. Currently using the iOS / iPadOS clock to stop playback but this should be a built-in option.

Dated, Bloated, and Massively Overpriced: A Relic Living on Past Reputation
Five years ago, Infuse filled a niche on tvOS. Today, charging £99 for a media player app is indefensible—especially when professional suites like DaVinci Resolve historically retailed at that exact price point for industry-standard mastering.
The software suffers from fundamental architectural flaws that make it unusable for large-scale deployments:
Forced Local Database Sync: For media libraries exceeding 0.5PiB with hand-curated metadata and bespoke artwork, forcing a local cache is catastrophic. Apple TV lacks the NVRAM capacity to replicate massive indexes, and writing gigabytes of metadata to local flash storage degrades hardware lifespan for zero functional gain.
Unnecessary Server Load: Rather than querying existing server-side databases efficiently, Infuse imposes redundant indexing overhead on Proxmox media server clusters during routine browsing.
Amateur Video Engine: The playback controls lack basic professional functionality. The absence of timecode readouts makes precise frame-seeking impossible, and the audio/video filter toolsets are virtually non-existent.
Terrible UI Spatial Economy: Despite operating on massive 4K displays, the layout wastes vast amounts of screen real estate, displaying a tiny fraction of active favorites or titles at any given time.
Infuse offers zero capability that cannot be obtained elsewhere for free. At £99, it is completely detached from reality. Until the developers either slash this absurd subscription/lifetime pricing to match standard utility apps or integrate professional-grade video controls, asset management, and external metadata respect, it remains an overpriced legacy tool to avoid.

No What’s Next
There is no proper What’s Next functionality. Additionally they need a plugin to sync with Jellyfin? Seriously how inept are these devs. This is so close to being a great app, but probably just for movie watchers.
It Ticks All the Boxes, for Me
Within the first week of using Infuse I subscribed to a month of Pro. After a month, I subscribed to a year! That is to say, I’ve been absolutely pleased with this app on both my iPads and AppleTVs. It looks great and plays even better. So far it has played everything I’ve thrown at it without a hiccup. Admittedly, these are my own files so there isn’t too much variation in codecs, etc. But considering all of the issues I’ve had with playing very large files and other weird playback issues on other apps, this is still a major improvement. I ditched Plex a long time ago because it felt bloated and unwieldy for my needs. I then switched to Airflow/Airflow Server (the polar opposite) which was very minimal but played everything well, until it didn’t. Once the latter basically became abandoned by its developer I came across Infuse which has since replaced them both. Essentially, Infuse has all the parts of those that I want without all the parts that I don’t: no middleman server app, no obtuse organization, no payback issues, so on. I’m loving it so far.
My only complaint, if it can be called that, is that I wish Infuse’s player integrated some of AppleTV’s built in audio enhancement/accessibility features like Enhance Dialogue. This feature is a godsend when dealing with modern films especially things like Christopher Nolan’s? This is the only thing I miss from Airflow: the ability to toggle to the appropriate setting right from the player itself. I won’t even go into my other wishlists because the app is continuously being improved and those may be remedied in updates.
The fact that I can just point this thing to a NAS and let it do its good work, is a breath of fresh air.
