About
InRange is a meal diary for people who already wear a glucose sensor. It takes the readings your sensor records anyway and matches them to what you ate, so you can see which dishes spike you and which ones leave you flat.
Log a dish once and you get one curve. Log it a few times and it has an average of its own: how high it took you, when it peaked, and how long before you were back in range. After a few weeks your food carries your numbers instead of a database's estimate.
Where the readings come from
InRange reads glucose from Apple Health, from LibreLinkUp, or from a Nightscout site you run yourself. Anything that writes to Apple Health works, which covers Dexcom in most regions and FreeStyle Libre in some. Workouts and insulin come from Health as well, so the app can show why the same dish behaved differently on two days.
What you get
A library of your dishes, ordered by what they do to you. Reports over 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, with time in range, the shape of your day hour by hour, and nights read on their own. A PDF to take to an appointment, and a spreadsheet for a dietitian. A code that lets a partner, a parent or your dietitian follow along, which either of you can end at any moment.
What it will not do
InRange does not guess carbohydrate from a photograph. The photo names the dish; the grams come from a barcode's own label, or from you. It does not suggest an insulin dose, and it raises no glucose alarms, because your sensor's own app is built and regulated for that and runs while InRange is asleep.
Your readings stay on your phone unless you invite someone. InRange carries no advertising, and nothing you log is sold or used to build a profile of you.
What it costs
InRange is free for one week, with everything open and no card asked for. After that it is a subscription, monthly or yearly, and your own current glucose reading stays free without one. InRange is free for family members who follow someone and for dietitians. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your App Store account settings.
