Inaccurate flash cards

I studied for a whole semester memorizing all 500 some flash cards for United States history, however not a single flashcard that I memorized was on the test, don’t waste your time. This app isn’t even worth it if it was free.

Non-functional

Fantastic idea, however I think they hired an entry level app designer or had their intern create it, because it is not good. I consistently get told my answers are wrong even though they are right, it won’t update my “mastered flash cards” vs “kind-of mastered” vs “unknown”. So I have no idea really how my progress is going. When your done with a set and want to return to home, expect to have to close out the app 80% of the time (you’ll lose all your saved data from that session, btw) to simply return to the home screen to go to the next section of the same course, not even a new course, just a new section. Regularly closes out, if you try to swipe right to go back a flashcard, 50/50 it’ll go back to the previous flashcard, 50/50 you’ll exit the whole set and have to start over (progress isn’t saved, yet again). The idea is great, and on my computer (aside from the incompetent individual who wrote the questions utterly lacking any ability to correct your wrong answer with relevant information), it works alright. Still suffering through it tho, cause it’s cheaper than paying for college.

Just order the REA books.

4 years of the same negative reviews and feedback, and nothing has improved. What’s worse is you have to create your account and start your first month’s subscription before you see how truly awful this app is. It’s obvious they take zero pride in their product while also charging a subscription for substandard performance. Just order the REA books on Amazon or go to your public library, there are too many options now to put up with this.

For a paid subscription?

This app is lacking in design for sure, but the flash card function is very cumbersome and it doesn’t even remember where you left off.
On top of that, clicking external links on flash cards causes the app to crash. At the very least that part should be fixed.

Not great

This app barely gets the job done. None of the filters work, and it logs me out every time. I have to continually re-download the course as well, and just because I get a question mastered does not mean it will mark it as mastered. What I would say is the flashcards are great material, but the app is not good. Use the website instead 😂

Links won’t open

On my phone I have no issues however on my IPAD the imbedded links in the questions will no longer open.

Bio CLEP Wizard

This app was perfect for the Bio CLEP. It has an overwhelming amount of information and if you can learn it all, you will definitely be prepared for that monster of a CLEP. The customer service is awesome, too. When I needed to cancel because I had passed my test, they quickly responded and even gave me a refund for the previous billing since it was just the day before. Can’t recommend enough! SO worth it!

This app is pretty barebones

This service of InstantCert is great and I am very grateful for the community behind it. However this app has a lot of things that could be improved. 1) First improvement would be if it remembered where you were in your study of the flash cards. I really don’t like having to click on each section and then click on every subsection of where I was studying. It’s a bit of a hassle and Quizlet is much more intuitive in this regard. 2) If the app team could fix the shuffle function on the flash cards. I have not been able to get it to work consistently and sometimes it will just refuse to work. 3) If they could get an actual app login instead of just a mobile browser version of a splash page login. It would go a long way in making this app feel more polished. I recommend InstantCert to everyone I know looking to get some college credits but the app just leaves a lot to be desired.

update?

maybe update the app to match the updated software on the pc version.

Useful Tool!

This app has lots of content makes it easy to get studying done when away from a desktop. I was able to pass mathematics using this guide. It organizes each topic into a category and gives a certain amount questions/problems to tackle. Wether you get them right or wrong you’ll see an explanation on how to get the solution. The desktop site has a forum section which is a great aspect to talk with other people. FYI for anyone wondering, humanities will be difficult with or without this tool. I recommend utilizing this if you are determined to fast track your degree!

Doesn’t work as advertised

The downloaded materials don’t take you to the reading material needed in order to answer the questions. The audio portion does not work as advertised either. Do not waste your money because cancelling it is also complicated.

Worked good but then didn’t work at all

At first the app worked great. But then it started closing out on me. Every time I try to open the text that I should be reading to answer the question it completely shuts on the app and put me back on my home screen.
I tried it a number of times and then tried to uninstall the app and reinstall - it still didn’t work.

Okay app..

IC app isn’t too study friendly. Going back/forth between questions should be easier and there should be a page to see your overall progress (which questions were answered or not.) Since the questions are fill in the blank, answers should appear in the same page the question is so you don’t forget the question. I rated a 3 star because of the content, but the application definitely needs an upgrade

Terrible Interface

The content of the flash cards that they give you to study are fine, but the tagging system doesn’t work. When I go back to the same category later, it still shows me all the cards I marked as Mastered along with everything else. There is a filter option in the upper right hand corner, but it doesn’t seem to work either. I used free flash card apps back in 2009 that worked better than this.

Could be great

I wish there were more multiple choice questions. They also need set it up to keep you logged in if your paying 15 bucks a months. When you want to review the question you just read don’t hit the back button like you would think, that takes you back to the main menu and loses your spot...

I’m done, I’ll buy a book to study with

Shuffle doesn’t work

The shuffle feature doesn’t work. Terrible app.

App limitations

I love having an app.
I would like to be able to download more than one topic. I'm studying for 2 exams right now.

Even with one test, when you mark a question it is not saved in the app, even if you keep the app open. Serious limitation, since the only I choice I have is to go through all the questions - every time.
It does NOT save how you mark the question.

Response from developer

Hi, Thanks so much for your review! Marked questions are saved, and you can filter them out! When you open up a question set, click the settings icon in the upper right-hand corner. You will see an option to filter categories of questions. As for your request to be able to download multiple subjects, I will forward that up the chain. Note that you are able to study as many subjects as you would like at the same time. The one-subject download limitation just means that only one of those subjects will be accessible when your device is NOT connected to the Internet.

App crashes sometimes, tiny font

Much more functional than using the flashcards on a computer or the website. The font is tiny though... If you have a hard time seeing averaged text on an iPhone, your eyes are in trouble. Unfortunately this app crashes every time you try to download your materials. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my phone to no success.
