Need Manual Tax Field
Tax field is by far the most cumbersome part of this app. Need ability to fill out Subtotal and Tax manually. OCR doesn’t work well either.

Calculates pre-tax tip! Yay!
You can add a custom sales tax % in the app settings.
Improvements are required
App is neat, but which could be more friendly, such as, manually fill the tax field, then automatically calculate the tax rate; manually fill the amount field, etc. Most of time, auto capture doesn’t work as expected.

Replaced Tipulator for me
Years ago I bought Tipulator, which did wonderful pre-tax tipping and palindrome calculations. It got abandoned, and I’d been looking for a replacement for years. Nothing was every quite right. This is the one!
Two questions though: for the life of me I cannot find the location of how to purchase “Pro.” I find the ability to point my camera at the bill totally helpful, and want to have it unlocked permanently.
Secondly: recently I had a bill where most of the items were dessert items that aren’t taxable. Their point of sale system was kind enough to only tax one of our four items. But the receipt came out like this:
Sub total $14.75
Tax: $0.65
Total: $15.40
The problem was that this was a 8.25% tax rate one only a portion of the bill. So setting the tax rate to 8.25% wouldn’t work. Also, it was have been insane guessing to figure out what the tax rate was in this case. I mean, it was 8.25% of *some* of the bill. So like maybe 2.37%? 3.117%? Know what I mean? And the current way to set tax in the app is that you have to go create these tax fields in another secretion then try them out one at a time. It would have been Sooooooo much easier if I could have simple clicked on the tax AMOUNT and entered $0.65 and had it reverse calculate the percentage to the 1.97% or whatever it was.
I’d love a developer response on those two points! Thanks!

Regarding your two feedbacks, 1, I’m going to provide a unlock button for the pro feature, especially for the receipt scan feature. 2, I understand current tax input flow is a little bit cumbersome. I’d like to improve this to let you input the tax amount directly. Despite this, another feature I’m planning right now is about the location based tax, which can adjust the tax rate automatically. Stay tuned, this is my hobby project so hopefully you will see a new version soon! Thanks for your support!

In my opinion, this is by far the best tip calculator in the App Store. This app deserves a top rating!
I have completely relied on the app to do the tipping math.
I love the concept of the Palindrome rounding, as it rounds my total (especially at places I first time visit) to a very special format. For example, a total of $38.55 would be rounded to $38.83. This special and hidden format helps me spot if my tab is right or not on my credit card statement.
I really love this as my one and the only tip calculator!

The most elegant tip calculator
Most of the current tip calculators are just simply “calculator”, there no tax option available to calculate the tip.
This app give you a familiar receipt view, you simply input the subtotal and set the correct tax rate, boom, you get everything you need. You have the pre-tax tip calculated and what you do next is just write down the tip and total on your real receipt.
