Useless app

Using the app is extremely inefficient. One question per page, take long to load. Pretty much useless and not a great way to study. It’s the entire course quiz rather than individual chapters… so each time you try a new quiz it’s 50 questions.

Garbage

Completely unusable in the mobile environment.

The app doesn’t connect to your courses

The app simply doesn’t work

Useless

This app is useless. Doesn’t provide anything that the website doesn’t provide, but then also links you to that same website (taking you out of the app). Old app was flashcards

Not Beneficial

I downloaded this app to assist with my studying efforts. The app only has quizzes, and does not provide anything I would consider helpful. I thought downloading this would allow me to have access to flash cards, learning material, etc. I did not find this app beneficial in any way. Very disappointed. I will be deleting.

ARM - Quizzes are 50 Questions?!

It’s suppose to be a Quiz not a full on exam. I’m answering 50 questions to complete one “Quiz!”Make it bite size with 10 questions and move on!

Bring back the old app

Bring back the old paid for app!
I was actually able to study with the old one.

Useless

It feels like all they want from you is to buy the cpcu course. That’s what it feels to me.

Not good

Hello. This app used to be so much better. Just tried the new format for CPCU 540. First, questions repeated during the 50 question practice exam. Second, you don’t even get the right answer during the review of how you scored. There is just an “explanation” that is as cryptic as the questions themselves.

Unusable

App does not provide feedback on why a question was incorrect. Quizzes are impractically long and not segmented by subject matter. Results only provided after completing the entire quiz, rather than after every question, eliminating the usefulness of review. It technically came free with the course and I still feel ripped off.

Useless for DISC-DA

I share the sentiment of the previous reviewer. Without knowing how the app was in the past, I can’t speak to that extent. However, the app offered nothing new or beneficial that the study material doesn’t already provide. All I had access to was the same practice exam that’s offered through the website.

If no stars was an option…

Extremely unhelpful application. Unable to access anything after scanning QR code- it takes me back to the get app screen. if my course includes access to QuizMe, I should be able to use it with ease. You can’t find anything you’re looking for and it’s utterly useless.

Bring back the old app

This new app is garbage. The old app would tell you if it was right or wrong immediately, and it also had hundreds of questions to help me prepare and get in the correct mindset to actually take the exam.
If TheInstitutes was actually trying to improve on their product, they have failed. Awful.

Useless

Provides no value for on the go study like it’s supposed to. Was given an expectation of flashcards or practice quizzes, but the only thing available for all 3 of my courses is a full course quiz that only makes sense to take on a computer. App doesn’t help even a little for studying for the course.

Old app worked

I used to buy each quiz me test for each class I was enrolled in for $9.99 which was worth it to me, even if the app was rudimentary it worked. This app only allows you to access with a QR code from the course you are enrolled in (but that doesn’t work either) and there is no functionality to the search function. My QR code just sent me to a blank page in the app that doesn’t do anything. Not sure why you changed this app to something that doesn’t work anymore.

Worse than predecessor

While the interface is much nicer, and it’s free with the course, there is no value to this app at the time of this review (March 2025). The previous (paid) app, had an enormous question bank that provided instant scoring with each question and was perhaps the best study tool available.

So, now with The Institutes, you get no books (for many courses) and the app is just the practice exam that you already have on the site. Continuous reduction in value has become a theme. I hope this improves.

Love it so far

The app is a good pocket friendly study tool. I’ve used it to keep terms top of mind and it has helped reinforce concepts from the courses I am working on.

Not usable

The application does not function at all. The old app wasn’t perfect, but it functioned fine as a study tool. This new app does not bring you to any content whatsoever. There are no selections or choices for any coursework.

Disappointing

This app does not work on my iPhone.
If it only works on a laptop, it is redundant and useless

The Institutes

They are not a ADA friendly provider of study materials and don’t offer hard copies of study materials for 90% of the courses they offer. Unless you own a home computer or laptop to access the study materials, success is going to be limited
