ASK SIRI "Hey Siri, insult me." Or an excuse, a quote, or a birthday jab. Siri reads the line out and shows it on a card — no need to open the app, which matters given the moment you want one of these is usually mid-conversation. It works from the Action Button and in Shortcuts. WHEN WE ASK FOR A RATING We ask when a line has actually been used — shared with someone, or read out loud — and never on launch, never from a menu. If you have just tapped the speaker, the ask waits until the line has finished being read: talking over the punchline would rather defeat the object. At most three times a year, counted by the app rather than left to chance. "Not Now" costs you nothing and we will not ask again for months. ALSO • Fixed: the rating prompt used to count lines viewed, which went up fastest for the people the app was serving worst — twenty taps of "New" means nothing shown yet was good enough. It now waits until something is actually used. • Fixed: the prompt could be spent invisibly on a cold launch after an update. It is now counted per person, not per release. • The listing has been corrected. It previously described saving lines, which the app does not do, and promised quotes from Wilde, Churchill and Parker. The quotes are original one-liners, not famous ones, and are now described as such.
