Inaccurate
The pronunciation of the vowells seems wrong (e.g., a, æ, ɐ). This does not give me confidence in the consistency of other elements with the IPA, which is disappointing for a paid app.
No sound?
I’m on iOS 13 and there is no sound coming out when I’m on this app. I love everything about it except the fact that I can’t hear the pronunciation of the sounds. Please fix and I’ll increase my rating.

I just got the app and there is no voice that come with it.
Useful but not really an app
It’s basically just a few screens you page through with a sound attached to each of the symbols. Still, it’s useful but a little odd to charge for something this limited. You think that might be the intro or help pages but it’s actually the whole app! I guess he is a famous dialogue coach and the app covers complex aspects of IPA, but it is really an almost trivial ‘app’

Some how all the voice files are silence when I click on them. Please help.
Crashing
Used to work well; useful little tool. Recently it’s crashing every time I try to access a sound though. If that’s not fixed it’ll remain unusable

Sound doesn’t work

Not just for actors and linguistic majors!
This app has been exceptionally helpful in my development of constructed languages. Worth the $3.99. And I’ve tried most of the apps on itunes regarding IPA. There’s only one other that’s equally as helpful and thorough as this one.

App dies whenever I touch a sound on the chart. Happens with all single sounds, but not on the whole words like “choice.”

Palatalization and aspiration are added to consonants where they shouldn't be and you can only hear sounds with earphones. It's all right for beginners but I feel like it's a bit misleading.

This app is clearly designed and has excellent voice quality. Very easy to use. A must have for students and actors.
Not the best
Unfortunately the sounds on this app are not true to the correct pronunciation. The speaker has an Americanized way of pronouncing the letters. For instance the "t" (alveoral plosive) is pronounced in an American type way, which is not the correct way to pronounce it. He pronounces it as the "th" aveoral plosive should be pronounced. I recommend skipping this one and getting the IPA Phonetics instead, which also has videos showing the pronunciation and tongue placement, and is much more correct than this app.

Interactive IPA
Paul Meier's Interactive IPA is a most valuable tool inside and outside of the classroom. The phonetic charts are user friendly and provide my students with clear examples of the associated sounds. Whether you are a student of voice and speech, linguistics or an actor, this app will help you understand the phonetic alphabet in al its detail. A great app.

No sound
As a linguist I go this app to show my students correct pronunciation of English phonemes although upon purchasing the app I noticed that the sound did not work. I would click on the buttons but no noise would be made.

Amazingly comprehensive IPA tool
The best $3.99 I've spent in a long time! Paul Meier's Interactive IPA app is exactly what it says it is. Every chart created by the International Phonetic Association is comprehensively covered, with an audio file for every phoneme, diacritic, and suprasegmental--plus there's an added diph/triphthong chart for both American and UK pronunciations (just click on the flag for the chart to turn from one to the other). For actors in dialect/accent training as well as students in linguistics or SLP studies, this is an incredible tool to have ready at all times at their fingertips. My dialect and speech students love it and rely upon it for their transcription work. Well done!

Interactive IPA
I have just purchased a copy of Paul Meier's "Interactive IPA" for my iPhone. I have been looking for a simple, easy and accessible app for my students in the Postgraduate Diploma of Voice studies which I run at the University of Melbourne in Australia. Whilst the students will not need all the linguistic information available on the app, it will enable them to hear and practise the sounds very easily. I particularly like the vowel charts which have both visual and aural representation. My postgrad students need to familiarise themselves with the IPA before they start the course, so this will be immensely useful.

Very Useful
This is a well-constructed app - the mechanics of the app work quite well, just as I would hope, and the layout is useful and thought out. Paul is, deservedly, very well respected in the world of dialects for actors, so he is a very logical person to put together an app like this. He even goes into diphthongs and triphthongs, which are not included in the IPA's materials. You might find that you use some slight variations on the symbols he uses for these, but even if you do, it's still clear and very helpful. I'm telling my acting students about it! It's great for them to have this resource in their pockets; I'll be using it, too!
