Excellent app but ridiculous amount of notifications daily!!
I love this app. Nice way to connect with numerous people sharing one’s interests. Enjoyed all the events and outings so far. However, what bugs me is the extreme number of notifications that I receive on a daily basis. Mostly with someone clicked on my profile. I don’t care!! If it’s important for you, give an option for me to elect to not be notified for this. Also, after I open the app and clear these silly notifications and close the app, it still shows notifications. I have to open it again and find that there is nothing new. Effectively, when I’m notified, I have to open and close it twice every single time !!!!

Unable to logi in
For some reason the app automatically logs out and doesn’t let me log in back. Even after basic troubleshooting like deleting and reinstalling, I’m unable to log in. Tried changing my password yet the same issue persist.
Fake groups to create an image of unrealistic activities
Unactive groups since 6 years ago or groups showing monthly past activities where only 1 person (the organizer) was attending. However InterNations doesn’t want to shut these groups down, even when you report them.
I pay annual dues for this?
Great thing they my annual dues go towards having an app that never loads.
Not a fan of
The app is often buggy, the interface is not intuitive and seems complex and outdated. I just deleted my account - zero pop up or email to confirm successful deleting.
Denied membership with no explanation
So upset with this app, I recently moved to Ireland and have been struggling to make friends hoping this app would help but when I applied for a membership I was denied with no information as to why. Honestly really hurt to be rejected from another place while trying so hard to adjust to a new community

Don’t bother using this app as you can clearly see that every pic has western country flag and not a single picture of two eastern countries.

App stopped working?
Suddenly stopped working any app support sends you back to the app which is not functioning so I don’t know what to do. I already uninstalled and reinstall the app.
Many issues…
While the app is not so sophisticated, and is mainly to inform people about an event, I experience often issues of the is not loading, being logged out, errors in the application and bad notification management and bad experience when vpn on.Doesn’t seem hard to fix I would say, yet issues remain or feel like getting worse.

A waste of money.
Fortunately, I only subscribed for one month to try it, and the experience could not have been more negative. Very little activity within the groups. The same things over and over again (aperitifs and coffee meetups). Most of the profile visits come from men (it feels more like Tinder). I proposed an activity and it was cancelled. I applied to be an event host and was rejected. They are very quick to write when it comes to proposing paid advertising or suspending events, but I wrote asking for a refund for the first month and nobody has even bothered to reply.

No free option removed
I have been Internations member for 10 years it was a life saver knowing ex pats/immigrants feel welcome and belong to a community. The free option was great to many people. Now we are forced to pay a membership to communicate and reach people international when we travel. The membership is very pricey. Sad I will have to remove myself from this organization. Sad!

InterNations has fun people from many countries. The NYC chapter is quite active! I appreciate the variety of activities. Locally they offer lots of social gatherings, museum visits, music events, hiking etc. Virtual gatherings also are on interesting topics, and include language exchange, music and more. Seems like something for everyone!
