Annoying
Set up this app just so we could use the backup wifi, only for it to notify me every 5 seconds to plus my fully charged phone in, it drained my battery 40% while not in use, yet that same draining does not occur without those notifications, FIX THOSE!

I have found my cameras to be very reliable and will record when someone comes to my door. It will even tell me if a dog comes with them!

On my second camera and experiencing the same problem again where the recording and notifications completely stop functioning. 3+ factory resets and it still won’t work.

Will send notifications but not show live feed. App logs out almost every time but still somehow sending notifications.

Got this setup with an internet package. Thought I was getting something similar to their other Telus webcams. Nope. Bare bones app, minimal functionality, settings are wonky, delayed video downloads, if you go to watch a live notification moment, it will actually corrupt the recording- so you have to wait 10 seconds or more after notification to check your camera. Not ideal. Also constant log outs for no reason. Thought this would improve as it was ‘newer’ a year ago but it seems it’s some sort of contract scam where they lock you in to this contract and then don’t care about any quality cause you’re locked in for the year. Terrible. Really makes me feel scammed by Telus. I tell everyone about how bad it is. Saw the old app from Telus home as a coworker had it, I was stunned at the functionality of that app compared to mine. Why such stark differences?

Absolute worst “security” system ever. I had it years ago and someone broke into my house and the alarm went off but the system didn’t even call the police. I cancelled my contract immediately after, disputed the bill I was given for cancelling before my term was up and I won. Fast forward 4 years and our new rental came with it and is included in our rent — the only thing we have set up is the doorbell camera because obviously I know their security/alarm system doesn’t work — well, neither does the doorbell camera. For the past month it has logged us out repeatedly so we cannot view the camera. We log back in and it starts loading and then logs us right back out. Telus said it was an issue with the app and not the camera. We changed the password after the second day in a row of this happening and it still continues to log us out before we can even see the camera. Yesterday I got a notification there was an app update for bug fixes, Telus told me this was to fix the issue of customers being logged out repeatedly and not being able to view their cameras. Downloaded the update and now it says my camera is offline. I’m done with Telus.

Terrible app. Why does Telus have to keep adding more and more apps? It’s confusing. Just use one and stick with it. And this one I can’t even login to set up my new wifi 7
Ridiculous
App won’t even let you add a TELUS camera if you don’t have the QR code on its original box, so if you threw it away, you’re out of luck! No option to add manually or scan your network to add a camera. The only option to add a camera is “Scan QR Code”. Are you kidding me?
Worst app ever
Have been using the original Telus Smart Home app for years with my security system. Recently decided to add a Telus doorbell camera to our system and it is asking me to download this new SmartHome+ app.
The app is horrible. Can’t even log into it, just spent 45mins on the phone with a Telus rep with no resolution. Now we have a doorbell camera installed but are unable to set it up until we can access the app. This is honestly the stupidest set up I’ve seen and it looks like this app has had issues since its development.

Update: Telus responded… about 6 months too late with a if you’re having issues contact the Telus Team… when you do that you get people who have no clue how to fix your problem, after spending hours on hold to actually talk to a person. Geez. Went with Rogers three month ago and I have no regrets!

Just so bad
IMPOSSIBLE to log in.. How am I supposed to self install the camera, if the app doesn’t let me log in? This app wasted my entire evening… 👎👎👎

It’s okay, I wasn’t able to use the camera for awhile because the app wasn’t working correctly. Im able to use it now. They really need to make it easier to pause recording and notifications, I really don’t need to get constant notifications that i’m sitting on my couch or walking by the camera.
