App is slow and unresponsive
Since the update a few weeks ago, this app has become very slow and cumbersome to use.

This App is not being updated, what’s the deal?! Remove it from App Store if it’s not maintained!!

Terrible app has not updated a single news story since 21 July 2020. Technically useless as a news app.
PATHETIC
Pathetic. Every time you go into a story a pop up with the story after the one you want to see appears and IT DOESN’T ALWAYS GO AWAY blocking the content of the story you want to read.
Another point - why should I subscribe to something that should be free. I can get the News off News24 or BBC for free❓❓

Much improved
I changed from Facebook login to email login and the crashing has dropped to once a week. Value for money can not be beaten

Mediocre News, Not Worth Subscription
Do not support this monopoly trying to force paid monthly subscriptions. News24 is by far superior and always free.

Easy to use, rich in functionality
iol news app
Excellent app - user friendly and easy to find heading and navigate. Thank you.
Has potential, but too many bugs
I love the iol website, so I was excited to see the app. Sadly, the app doesn't allow you to scroll through stories - as you scroll, news items randomly open up. Fix this problem, and you'll get 5 stars.

Uninspiring
This App needs some serious development work, but then so does the 'Independent' News Group. Much better available for SA News.
App needs improvement
UX is good but is let down by articles opening up when you are trying to scroll up or down. This forces you to swipe on the thin lines between articles where you should be able to swipe up or down from any position.
There should also be a feedback option instead of using the app review to report issues.

Update needed for new iPad
Pleeeeease update the app to support the new display on iPad 3. This looks like an awesome app, but the font used makes it nearly impossible to read the pixelated articles. I'd give this app 5 stars if the display is fixed, looks much better than the News24 app.
Good effort
A pretty good effort and a good app to bring all the news in one place, just a pity that the text and graphics are really crap on the iPad3! Come on guys, the new iPad has been out for months now so no excuses for not bringing your app up to date. Sort out this and it gets 5 stars
Great idea but amateur execution
Having a iPad version of iol is great but to not take advantage of the retina display is a shame.
Have the developers actually looked at how this app is rendering the text?
If this is "South Africa's Premier news source" and to release such an amateur looking app makes you wonder. Just getting it on the iPad is not good enough.
