Very Useful!

Overall, this is a very useful app! It is reliable and works well as a basic document camera app. However, I have noticed that one feature was lost around when the app was updated to version 4. Before this update, I was able to connect my iPad to my ViewBoard using AirPlay, and the camera would project to the ViewBoard at its full aspect ratio and hide the controls (which would still be visible on the iPad). Since this update, using AirPlay simply results in the iPad’s screen being mirrored at it’s native aspect ratio and the UI elements being present on the projected screen. This also occurs when using AirPlay on my MacBook and AirServer. This change does make the app much less seamless to use in the classroom as it was before.

Support is non existant

I submitted a ticket to support six days ago and still have yet to receive an answer. I am seeking how to set a photo in one of the panes while using the split screen feature. One side = photo. Other side = live demo. It seems impossible to achieve. The responses I receive aren’t relevant just pitches for ads. Frustrating.

Response from developer

Dear Butterflyshadows , We apologize for any inconvenience. The latest version now supports in-software screen splitting features. Please feel free to give it a try and see if it can address your needs more conveniently.

Does not work-Failed to connect to iPad

This is such a disappointment. It will not turn on, connect, even respond whatsoever to any platform (zoom, google hangout, skype). It is definitely not compatible with iPad

With the Apple Camera Adapter

I’m not sure why you don’t have the original point 2 view app considering the Apple adapter is made for the usb camera

Response from developer

Hello and thanks for sharing your feedback! The P2V software was phased out following by the discontinuation of our point to view camera. However, you can still use Visualizer to view and capture the images of your P2V. Regarding the point you made on the Apple adapter, could you elaborate on it a little? Are you referring to the physical adapter you use to connect USB devices? If you are connecting our USB camera to a MacBook that has USB-C port, you can use an adapter to connect for sure. Let us know if you have further questions, or you can message our team at cs@ipevo.com. -The IPEVO Team

HUGE disappointment

I finally received the 3 wireless document cameras from IPEVO. I immediately downloaded the app so that I could begin teaching my visually impaired students how to use the camera and app for distance viewing in the classroom. Well we did not get far into the lesson because the app keeps closing out on its own. When I try to select which camera I want the image to come from it immediately shuts down. Great camera but the app is HORRIBLE! Please get this fixed....my cameras are useless without it!

Great app

Great app, just one thing needed for a 5* rating; please put the annotation feature on the iPad app. That would be fantastic with the Apple Pencil.

How to connect to other cameras?

I’d love to be able to connect my iPad to the wired IPEVO VZ-R with this software (or the iDocCam). Any chance that will be available in the future?

Response from developer

Hello and thanks for reviewing our Visualizer! To answer your question, VZ-R cannot be connected to an iPad via USB, unfortunately, since iPad does not natively support USB cameras. You might be interested to check out our VZ-X wireless model. You can connect the VZ-X to your iPad via Wi-Fi, and then access the camera images directly in Visualizer. Definitely let us know if you have more questions, or feel free to email our team at cs@ipevo.com. We look forward to hearing from you! -The IPEVO Team

No Point

This app was a big disappointment. It doesn’t do the one thing I need it to when connected- use my Apple Pencil!

I teach 3rd grade and have been using a usb doc camera with my laptop. Unfortunately, this set up tied me to that space or caused me to lose a ton of instructional time going back and forth between the doc camera and my students.

I spent a lot of my own money on a iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Apple TV, and the wireless doc camera in order to be mobile in my classroom. However, since I still have to go to the doc camera in order to write, nothing has changed other than I’m out approximately $3,000!
