iDensity’s Siamese twin
Amazing app by an amazing dev, marred only by its overly similar feature-set to that of iDensity. After playing with both for a few hours, it’s clear they don’t really compliment each other—which is very unfortunate, given they are both amazing apps.
I find myself deep in a preset in iDensity and wishing I could get a bit more control over the manipulation of grains, while in iPulserat wishing I could automate my sample-scrubbing. There isn’t a clear, conceptual distinction between the two; and I have a hard time deciding which app to open, since I don’t necessarily know beforehand which of their slightly different features I want, and their preset formats don’t appear to be interchangeable.
I would much rather pay extra for one all-encompassing “iDensity Pro” than for an additional app which is only a slight variation of the iDensity concept.
Again, though, amazing apps, both of them. Keep up the good work, Mr. Ape!

A great synth but crashing a lot
One of my absolute favourite iOS synths but the latest version is crashing a lot, particularly when I try to access the Grain Source. It’s crashing nearly every time I press it.

This is a great app! Basically a six channel granular effect with sample players for each channel. Only (slight) complaint is that the user manual could be better. The app is stellar, beats a lot of vst stuff (ok i still don’t have Crusher X.) I’m impressed.

Si à priori, j’ai été déçu, c’est que je pensais que ce synth était juste une énième itération de synthés analogique avec une touche particulière. C’est en fait une approche très différente qui nécessite d’appréhender l ‘application de façon complètement différente. Finalement c’est très bien fait, fini, léché .... Un vrai plaisir de découverte. Par contre si vous êtes à la recherche d’un ensemble de presets jouables immédiatement, ce synth n’est pas pour vous. Mérite vraiment que l’on passe un peu de temps dessus avant d’en retirer le maximum ... et encore, les possibilités sont telles que ... Quelques plantages néanmoins à signaler. Sauvegardez souvent !

Granular Fantastics
A fantastic app! Granular synthesis can be very difficult to come by via hardware. Thanks to Apesoft we have it at the touch of our fingers. I highly recommend making some space of your desk for an ipad if you desire taking the granular dive.

Like all apeSoft apps, iPulsaret is an fantastic instrument, mixing sample, wave and granular synthesis.

I’m surprised that no one seems to mention how beautiful this can sound. Every sample I’ve imported can be mangled but it can also be shaped into something startlingly lovely.

Semplice da usare eppure potentissimo, stavo cercando da tempo di ottenere suoni di questa profondità...se il vostro gusto vi porta in territori dark ambient questo è un programma da avere! Dai drones più cupi ai panorami alieni e in evoluzione con effetti di riverbero ed eco pulitissimi e di grande qualità pro...si ottengono suoni meravigliosi anche solo campionando dal microfono dell'iPad...un'app che mette la voglia di sperimentare e di esplorare sonorità particolari...difficile se non impossibile ottenere così velocemente gli stessi risultati con Hardware...e poi il controllo sul suono é immediato, intuitivo e praticissimo! Consigliato assolutamente ! Un must !

Not impressed
Took a chance on this in a Black Friday sale, and quickly found this is not an intuitive app. Import from AudioShare simply does not work, and when I did get samples in via the awkward AudioPaste, none of them would load. The developers need to extract the digit, and deliver on the promise.

Unique, and playful
This thing can make amazing and unexpected sounds. And the interface is incredibly inviting. If you have any interest in granular synthesis, particularly for melodic/harmonic work, this synth is great.

Excellent New Update
I have this app from the day one and this is now one super synth. Problem with all granular synths is they are difficult to control or to get sound you want. But this version is very playable and sounds great. It is obvious that Mr. Alessandro works very hard and I say thank you very much for this update.

One of the best
This app has been around for a long time. It was great when it came out and the devs were always diligent in maintaining it and improving it over the years. They have several excellent apps with consistent interfaces so if you learn how to use one then the others are a snap to learn too. I really think these apps are amongst the best in their class. Any musician who likes to make cool sounds and tunes that are not necessarily the same boring stuff, will live these apps.
