About

Practise for IQ tests with the item types of real intelligence tests: matrices, number series, figure series, mirror images, operators and digit span. Plus a lab with reaction, attention and memory tasks in which you measurably improve with practice. For aptitude tests, Mensa admission and anyone who wants to know how IQ tests work. IQ TEST ITEMS • Matrices: 3×3 figure matrices as in Raven's test, up to four rules at once, and at higher levels dot patterns that combine, intersect or cancel out • Number series: 28 rule families, from simple differences to interleaved series • Figure series: rotation, count, fill, shape and movement across the grid • Mirror images: rotated or mirrored, with ever-new figures • Operators: insert the operators, precedence applies • Digit span: forwards and backwards, as in the Wechsler test Every item is generated fresh, on five difficulty levels, and after every answer you see the solution step by step. No games, no points: items look like the real test, black figures on a plain background, no animations. LAB: REACTION, ATTENTION, MEMORY Five classic tasks from cognitive psychology to practise: reaction time, Stroop, flanker, Corsi block and dual n-back. With practice you measurably improve at them; a trend curve shows your progress, plus a daily streak. Reaction, attention and memory are tested directly in some selection procedures, such as police or pilot selection. TEST UNDER REAL CONDITIONS 30 items from all categories, 20 minutes, no help until the end. Then a score per category and every wrong item with its solution to work through. SCIENTIFIC BASIS • Practice on the test format measurably improves scores. The meta-analysis by Hausknecht et al. (2007) shows gains of about a quarter of a standard deviation from retesting, more with targeted coaching. • Practising reaction and memory tasks reliably improves performance on exactly those tasks. Whether it transfers to IQ beyond them is disputed (Melby-Lervåg et al. 2016), so IQ Prep does not promise it. • The item types follow established test families: matrices after Raven, digit span after Wechsler (WAIS, WISC), number and figure series as in CogAT and similar batteries. Free to try: three items per category, one full test with mistake review, and three runs of each lab task. Full version $4.99 one time: everything unlimited. No subscription, no ads, no account, no data collection. Training offline, internet only for purchase and restore. IQ Prep is not a standardized intelligence test and does not measure IQ.

What's New in IQ Prep

1.0.1

September 23, 2026

New: statistics. Accuracy and level for every category, the history of your tests, and your best lab results. Dual n-back now starts at n = 1, shows the depth before the run and marks every answer right away. Stroop and Flanker produce a result even when you take your time. While practising, the solution appears by itself, tapping it brings the next item, and the level you reached is kept.
