About
Iqra helps you recite, revise and memorize the Quran. Open the Mushaf and recite: Iqra listens on your iPhone, follows you word by word on the page, and notes possible slips so you can review them.
RECITE AND REVISE
• Tap Recite and begin: the page follows your recitation word by word
• Possible slips, such as a missed or changed word, are listed for review
• Repeating a word or restarting an Ayah is recognized, not marked as a mistake
• Recite any passage to find where it is in the Quran, with similar verses (mutashabihat)
MEMORIZE
• Memorize mode hides the words and reveals each one as you recite it, or when you tap to reveal the next word
• Listen to well-known reciters in Murattal, Mujawwad and Muallim (teaching) styles
• Repeat an Ayah or a range as many times as you need, with adjustable pauses and speed
READ AND REFLECT
• Madani Mushaf (1421H and 1405H), IndoPak (13, 15 and 16 lines) and Uthmani digital text
• Optional Tajweed colors
• Sahih International English translation and word-by-word meanings
• Tafsir Ibn Kathir, al-Muyassar, as-Sa'di, al-Baghawi and al-Mukhtasar, with offline packs
• Bookmarks, reading history, and light, sepia and dark themes
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Speech recognition runs on your iPhone; your recitation is not uploaded while you recite
• No account, no ads, no tracking
• Optional problem reports are sent only when you tap Submit
Mistake detection uses on-device speech recognition and can occasionally mishear, especially with background noise.

What's New in Iqra
1.0.1
October 3, 2026
• The app is now available in Arabic, Turkish, Indonesian, Malay, Urdu, Bengali, French and Russian. • Reciting now starts with the words hidden for memorizing. One tap on the hide button shows them again, and Iqra remembers your choice, including Recite or Listen. • Recitation tracking now stays with the passage you are reciting. If you lose your place and recite a verse from elsewhere, the page no longer moves there. Going back a few Ayahs to recite them again, or skipping a few ahead, is still followed. • A new app icon: a microphone beside the open Mushaf, as Iqra listens while you recite.
