About

Someone is sending Iris Clewe crosswords that come true. New York, 1924. Iris edits the puzzle page of the Evening Ledger. One morning a grid arrives with no stamp and no return address, signed "The Constructor", and by midnight its answers describe a murder. Solve the puzzles, question the witnesses, catch the liar, and lay out the case until it sticks. EVERY CLUE IS A PUZZLE A crossword that predicts a crime. A cipher in a dead man's pocket. A switchboard log, a dance card, a torn letter, a galley full of misprints. Every solved puzzle hands you a piece of evidence, and every piece of evidence matters: each case has exactly one answer, and the game proves it. ACCUSE, THEN MAKE IT STICK Name the killer, where they stood, what they used and why, and the one witness who lied to you. Then the defence objects, and you answer with the evidence you found. SEASON ONE: THE CONSTRUCTOR (NEW YORK, 1924) Six cases, one sender, and the last case is about Iris herself. SEASON TWO: THE SECOND HAND (ATLANTIC CITY, 1925) A new grid in a stranger's hand, postmarked Atlantic City. Six cases on the boardwalk, and a hotel that hears everything. Four new kinds of puzzle: a hotel register, signal flags, a tide table and a route along the boardwalk. - The first case of every season is free, for good. - Each season's Pass opens its other five cases with one purchase. You can also buy a single case. THE CONSTRUCTOR'S DAILY A new 5x5 grid every day, free. No timer and no streak to lose: a missed grid waits in the archive. ALSO - Art Deco illustrations in the style of 1920s posters, a narrator for every scene and a voice for every witness - Ragtime piano, with a gramophone that keeps each case's record - Help from Mr. Pim of the Ledger's archive whenever you are stuck: his nudges are free, and the answers he fills in are paid for with favors you earn by solving, never with money No ads. No timers. Hints never cost money. Buy a season once, keep it forever. An independent game by Artsiom Rusau. Modern tools, AI among them, help with drafting, drawing and voices; every case is proved by our own solver to have exactly one answer, and every picture and line is checked and finished before it reaches the game.
