This app is a total scam. Takes forever to earn points ( gems ) and then impossible to redeem. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Staff constantly taking and opportunities to share honest feedback and earn gems making it impossible to get free product. Don’t bother waiting your time

With moderators controlling what members post and there is no longer any freedom on the app to post whatever beauty related content, the constant shop sale notifications and inability to make gems considering how steep the prizes cost this is not worth it. The competition against other users is also going against their idea of a fun and supportive community. I wouldn’t waste your time with the app

The best BEAUTY COMMUNITY OUT THERE
Iris is more then just a beauty app. It’s a safe, welcoming, genuine and supportive place where beauty enthusiasts unite! It was a blessing that I discovered it, and and so glad that I did. I trust the reviews and advice, and feel at home. Great job Iris!
For All Things Beauty- For Anyone Who Loves Beauty and Community
I joined awhile ago, when one of the content creators I watch talked about it. I was skeptical but joined anyway. When I got my first drop I was like wow! This is for real. The people are fun, creative and encouraging on the app. The app is easy to navigate and figure out. It is engaging and helps me get out of a rut, get out of my comfort zone and figure out how to learn new things. And makes me feel brave so I can try something I think of even if it might not workout. The reviews are helpful and insightful especially when you find someone with similar skincare type/ needs as you. There are fun challenges and other ways to get to know others who love beauty. This isn’t just an app to write reviews and get some stuff in return. This is a place where creativity is celebrated and connections are made.

Updated review - shift in focus to selling products
Iris was really fun before brand spaces started to be introduced, and a lot of focus has been put into purchases and the whole thing has gotten more overwhelming.
I liked that this was more of a spot for genuine reviews and community, but as people continue to post and engage just to get gems it’s gotten harder and harder to sift through for thoughtful posts and conversation.
The main button is now linked to shopping, I get notifications about brand specials more often than anything, and the best items in drops are now only for people who purchase a certain $ amount through Iris.
The whole thing has become much more capitalistic… High quality reviews often get less engagement because they’re written by those who can’t spend all day every day on the app.
As time goes on I find it less and less enjoyable to use, unfortunately.

Finally, a beauty community for actual lovers of all things skincare and beauty. This is actually a community that is supportive and so extremely helpful to each other!!!
Incredible - but you need basic literacy skills.
This app really does reward you (and frequently!) with full-size products for writing reviews and interacting with the community. And the community is so positive and authentic! But you must have basic reading and writing comprehension skills to use the app. Some people complain that they can’t level up in the app- but the FAQ really does explain exactly how the app works. You just have to read it and follow the instructions. If you can do that, the rest is actually quite easy. And you must be able to write your reviews well - in complete sentences, about a paragraph each. If you know how to read and write, this is the app for you!

Loving this app!
I just joined the Iris app and I am loving it so far. Everyone has been so nice and welcoming. It’s a great place for everything beauty. Post reviews, connect with other beauty lovers, discover new products, etc. You can use your points (gems) to claim drops to get products. I highly recommend this app if you’re a beauty lover!

I downloaded the app, but unfortunately, every time I try to do something like edit my username or add a profile picture, I get a pop-up saying, “Something went wrong.”

The people here are friendly and helpful. You can read honest reviews, and the layout is easy to navigate. It's just a great little place and very welcoming.
Pressure to conform
All the reviews are so much alike—positive, happy-clappy, and boring. People on this app are chasing free merchandise. They also pressure you to rewrite reviews.

Great app and community
Iris is a super fun and informative space where everyone can freely share their thoughts on beauty-related topics. The app is constantly updated with new features and the developers take into account their users’ feedback. The ability to obtain free products to try out is a huge bonus as well.

Claimed over $350 in products and made so many friends!
I’ve been using this app since last August and since then I have been able to claim over $350 worth of trendy products from popular brands like huda beauty, urban decay, haus labs, holo taco, and more! All for 100% FREE! The community is also amazing! My current favorite mascara was a recommendation from an IBB. The reviews are super helpful when considering purchasing a product, and everyone is so nice! Whenever I post a makeup look, all the comments are so nice and positive! I just love this app and community so much!
