Worse in every way
I can’t think of a single thing this game did better than the first.
- The fog of war makes it unfun, because you don’t have to pay attention to offscreen threats.
- Every level starts with a reconnaissance to find free command points or etherium lying around. The game is balanced around a person who doesn’t bother searching for that, so the game becomes trivial and non-rewarding.
- Some hero abilities are OP, and are approximately the equivalent of a free orbital strike from the first game every 40 seconds.
- The enemies aren’t threatening. Even when I felt like I should have been overwhelmed, I send in one squad and use a hero ability; 60 seconds later, my base is still alive, and all the enemies are dead. How am I supposed to lose?
- tower healing is tiny, and is balanced around that. If you lose a tower due to being attacked, you just build a new one. Even if I lose a refinery, I usually take it back almost immediately.
- enemies are more stupid and more passive. Attack, and they ignore you; run away and they stop chasing.
- There’s an actually threatening enemy? Either it’s nerfed with low damage or low health, or it appears one at a time. Or you just nuke it with a hero ability or the rapid laser tower instakill (like, one instakill every 10 seconds).
- the levels aren’t fun: “destroy x”; “stand on this circle for 30 seconds while we send several low-dps enemies towards you”.
- OPsec missions are now random and of the same difficulty.
- You can choose your squad? The original game had more diversity and utility of units than there are in the free units of this game. The paid ones (yes, paid! I bet you loved KR Vengeance!) are allegedly not much better!
- There are some cheese strategies by sending an arial unit, then dropping your hero on top of the target you want to destroy/capture. What good is a structure that can be soloed by one hero?
I don’t recommend this game.

Good
Good for a mobile game 👌
Good game
Very good
Slogfest
I feel like this game had potential but just feels too much like a dark souls game in that, you are always the underdog with not getting enough resources for upgrades, units that feel at best adequately powered, enemies that just pile it on, and just learning pretty quickly that you will never reach a point of comfortable. This game feels challenging just for the sake of it. I don’t really get much out of winning a stage besides knowing it’s complete. In some ways the first game felt better because you could upgrade your units early on to actually become competent. Seems like the buildings and towers are quite good but the units feel meh in this game. It’s playable but not much to keep me interested. I will continue playing the Kingdom Rush games because those are so much more satisfying to play.

A big money grab but good
The game is like lron marines if not better but almost all the hero and tower cost real money and that’s just stupid to me. It’s still a great game tho 😀
