Iron Stag 1.8.0
July 23, 2026
Iron Stag 1.8.0 introduces our biggest deer-aging accuracy upgrade since launch. WHAT’S NEW • Species-Specific Deer Aging Iron Stag now uses dedicated aging guidance for whitetail does and mule deer. Estimates consider species-specific differences in body proportions, chest depth, belly and back lines, facial structure, ear-to-face ratio, and other visible characteristics. • Improved Fawn Identification New identification cues help distinguish 0.5-year-old deer using coat appearance, leg-to-body proportions, chest development, and seasonal changes. • Higher-Resolution Photo Analysis Photos are now analyzed at full resolution, allowing the AI to better evaluate finer details such as belly sag, chest depth, back shape, and facial length. • Smarter Multi-Pass Analysis Borderline estimates now receive more varied analysis passes. Iron Stag also considers alternate age suggestions when calculating agreement, helping produce a more balanced final estimate. • Clearer Confidence Explanations Each scan now provides more information about why a confidence level was assigned, including visible aging cues, photo quality, viewing angle, and other limitations. • Security and Reliability Improvements This release includes extensive security hardening, improved request handling, updated dependencies, and general stability improvements. Existing scans remain unchanged. Your tags, favorites, subscriptions, and Boone & Crockett scores are preserved.
