About

iRootWise is a mindfulness app built around Caigentan for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. More than an ebook or timer, it connects reading, sitting, courses, Daily Passage, and notes into one habit. Brand line: Chewing the root of wisdom. 1. Why it is different Many apps offer either a classic library or a timer. iRootWise joins both: read, sit, reflect, and keep the habit visible with widgets and reminders. Offline library. No account, ads, or trackers. Data stays on device first; progress can optionally sync with iCloud. Meditation stats stay local. A practice workflow, not a reskinned ebook. 2. Read Caigentan with depth About 697 Ming and Qing passages across key life themes. Ming English aligns with Isobe 1926; Qing gaps use study paraphrases. Paraphrase and appreciation cover gist, craft, and practice. Modes: bilingual, Chinese only, English only. UI in Simplified/Traditional Chinese and English. Also: pinyin, vertical text, segmented and immersive reading, long-press tools, glossary, notes, mastery, related reading, and one-tap speech. 3. Daily Passage Seasonal context recommends today passage. Optional notification follows reading language. Swap when needed. One-tap speak and streak tracking included. 4. Sitting practice Presets: 4-7-8 calm, box breathing, natural breath, and body scan. Ink-wash guide with ambient sounds; optional end chime. Lock Screen controls, recovery, and cold-launch completion. Optional Health Mindful Minutes (off by default). Sitting joins reading and courses in your streak. 5. Guided courses Paths: Conduct 7, Ease 14, Adversity 21, Cultivation 30, Four Seasons 180. Daily loop: read, sit, reflect. Today Lesson on Home. Longer courses fold by phase/week/month. Reminders, notes, preferred course, reset, and celebration included. 6. Famous lines, favorites, lists, and search About 180 lines to browse and filter; jump, speak, or share. Favorites and lists with multiple layouts. Multi-select tools, full-text search, optional Spotlight (off by default), and shareable list links. 7. Insight notes Write from your present mood. On supported devices, on-device tools can refine wording; otherwise local prompts keep the habit. Save to notes and review later. 8. System integration Widgets for Daily Passage, lines, favorites, and course progress. StandBy, Control Center, Siri, Shortcuts, quick actions, and deep links. Live Activities for reading and sitting (off by default). Share cards included. 9. Look, accessibility, and privacy Accent colors, alternate icons, and VoiceOver-aware sitting controls. No account, ads, or trackers. Notifications, Spotlight, Health, and iCloud are optional. 10. Who it is for For Caigentan readers, bilingual learners, sitting practitioners, and privacy-minded users who like widgets and Shortcuts. 11. Copyright and notes Public-domain source text. Ming English uses Isobe 1926; Qing gaps use study paraphrases. Guides are for learning, not academic verdicts. Not a medical tool. 12. A gentle start Add a Daily Passage widget, read one line, sit briefly, and write one note. Keep it light: one passage, one sit, one note. Over days and seasons, small practice becomes steady strength. Come back tomorrow with the same simple loop of read, sit, and reflect. Let Caigentan wisdom settle into ordinary days. The design favors quiet consistency over rush and noise. Start with today passage. Read one line, sit for a while, and keep one note that is yours. Chewing the root of wisdom.
