Game changer

I’ve studied for the ISA exam in multiple ways and failed it twice. These flashcards, however, are definitely a game changer. The integrated AI explanation when you get an answer wrong is extremely helpful!

Generally Helpful, but Imperfect

The app is packed with TONS of helpful questions for both learning and reviewing all the relevant material for becoming an arborist. However, I am finding the “Unseen Questions” feature to be dysfunctional/buggy. Even when asking for only questions I haven’t seen (and I have only done about 300 of the 3000 available questions), I am somehow getting repeat questions consistently and frequently. In my latest set of 10 unseen questions I actually somehow had 4 duplicate questions that showed up twice back-to-back. Still a helpful learning tool, but should be improved considering I am paying for this service.

Not Useful For Exam

I waisted a week of my life studying this material and none of this was related to test questions. So don’t think my taking mock exams on here you are getting an accurate assessment. I studied all 2500 questions and none where related to the test. Best of luck to everyone!

Hi! Unfortunate to hear your experience! However, the content is most certainly related to the test questions. This app has 100s of 5-star reviews, and plenty of people have attested to the benefits of this as a study material, so it definitely works. I would argue that regardless, you need to study more than a week, and as mentioned in the app, use it as a complement to the official study guide.

Excellent resource

What a great way to study, a lot or a little at once. The best feature of this app is the AI attached for wrong answers. Wow! If you are unsure about the test, this is where it’s at, everything you doubt yourself on, the app has got all the resources cited and answers with the whys. A must have.

Been studying for 2 weeks. This is the BEST combo with the text book, and ARB AI is much better than a generic AI

It’d be wicked cool to have photos or examples! For example; Palmate compound leafs. Having those pictures when asking arb ai would be really neat.

Problems

Some of the questions have wrong answers. For example, a question asks what is not a disadvantage of topping and the correct answer on the app says that “reduction of the ability to compartmentalize” is the correct answer. So reducing the trees ability to heal is an advantage?? Its almost like a non english speaker wrote these questions.

You’re right—that answer key is wrong. “Reduced ability to compartmentalize” is a disadvantage of topping, not an advantage. I’ve flagged the item and will update the quiz so the correct “not-a-disadvantage” option is shown. Thanks for catching it!

Useful/engaging

This app has really helped me to study longer and devise a study plan. Reading textbooks alone is mentally exhausting but having different quizzes and exams keeps me going. I’m much more confident going into my exam this time around.

Worth every penny!

I failed the ISA exam three times. This app with the AI is going to be what gets me the gold. I have coworkers that have used this and passed and I’m recommending to others now.

Works well

I’m really enjoying this app and I’m hopeful it will assist with my exam results. I feel it’s definitely steering me in the right direction. Preparing me with both tree knowledge and how to deal with multiple choice questions. That in itself is a skill.
The added AI is a great addition to the app. It seems it has become my go to when searching anything arboriculture. One request tho, I wish it could create images when answering questions.
All in all, I would subscribe to this app again.

Excellent study tool

Taking my ISA Certified Arborist Exam today. This was a helpful tool to find the weak points in my knowledge and dial in my studying. With the addition of ArbAI you can have a detailed explanation of the question to understand why a certain answer is better than the others and provide some more information to help you understand the concept. Highly recommend.

Not worth it

Questions are repeated over and over again in Paid version. Lose track of progress.

Poorly set up, but good questions

You can only test 10 questions at a time, non selectively, and often there are repeat questions. It would be nice to be able to go through a whole section at once without any repeats.
