About

Islet turns your iPhone into a retro instant camera — and your Dynamic Island into the slot the photo prints from. Frame your shot, press the big red shutter, and watch a polaroid slide out of the top of your screen, develop, and drop into your gallery. It's the unmistakable ritual of instant film, rebuilt natively for iPhone. FILM LOOKS, DONE RIGHT • Ten hand-tuned looks inspired by real stocks — Kodak Gold, Portra, Fuji, Velvia, Polaroid 600, mono, sepia and more. • A GPU film engine (Metal) adds true split-toning, tone curves and grain — not a flat overlay. • Dial any look up or down with an intensity slider, and your favourites so they're always first. • VSCO-grade grain, light leaks and a warm vignette — toggle them per shot. A REAL CAMERA UNDERNEATH • Tap to focus, drag for exposure, pinch through every lens your iPhone has (0.5× / 1× / tele). • Front and back cameras, true flash, and a self-timer. • Long-exposure mode for silky motion and light trails. • 4-up photobooth mode for a classic strip. • Aspect ratios and frame styles: classic white, cream, black border, Instax. KEEPSAKES, NOT JUST FILES • Every print lands in a tactile gallery you can flip through. • Attach a voice memo to a photo — the sound of the moment. • "On this day" memories resurface old shots. • A home-screen widget shows your latest print. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account. No ads. No tracking. No network. • Your photos stay on your device unless you choose to Save or Share them. Islet is GEN 1. Load some film and start shooting.

What's New in Islet

1.0.1

June 10, 2026

• Filters now always print at full strength — picking a film stock means getting that look on every shot • The camera now recovers on its own after a phone call, FaceTime, or another app borrows it — no more black viewfinder • No more wasted film: if the camera isn't ready, the shutter waits instead of printing a blank • iPhone X–13: prints now slide right out of the notch — your notch is the printer now • Sharing a print now works on the first tap • Friendly hints the first time you run out of film, and the first time you discover voice memos • Print animation polish: truer blacks, softer shadows
