Nice ideas, flawed usability
This app has flexible scale configs and lots of special tick marks but it feels neglected. It needs updates to be usable on iPhones since ca. 2020.
- Scale labels are obscured by the notch or dynamic island.
- In the default portrait orientation more than half the screen is left empty. Instead, a full-height view would be useful and constitute a mild zoom feature that is otherwise missing.
- Settings and Help buttons are clipped in landscape orientation.
- The ‘Help’ button links to a non-SSL web page which prompts a security alert (disputable as those are, they deter users). This is unexpected given the large download size of already above 20MB.

To the developer: Could you…?
Hello there! I, like every person that has reviewed your app, love what you have done with it!
However, allow me to suggest an improvement: Would it be possible to move/alter both the Portrait and Landscape orientation implementations so that the Dynamic Island does not intrude with the display? That would make your app a 5+ star app.

Great tool
I too am a slide rule collector and student. This app is very customizable and intuitive. I can set it up to match many of my grandfather’s old slide rules. Also has a great description area. But what I love most is that this app does not track any of your information. Good job!!
Very well made
Makes best use of screen. All seems to work as it should. I'm a slide rule collector, so nice to have good one on mobile device. The only iPhone slide rule app I know of which has trig scales. Well done!
If you're “into” slide rules ...
This is the best out there. Math “purists” will love it.
Cursor positioning issues
The issues are similar to the HD version, except that the nudge feature randomly seems to get stuck nudging in the same direction in both portrait and landscape orientation. The Display Values option is irritating on small devices, since it appears to be impossible to adjust the cursor in increments as small as the displayed precision indicates (for example, 1.201 is as close as you are going to get the cursor to 1.2 on the D scale).

Okay, so it
...but it's a nice toy, and the incongruity of having a slide rule built into an iPod is simply irresistable. And it's a functional slide rule, to boot, not just a joke.
Best slide rule app
This is simply the best slide rule app i've tried, does everything that my old physical rule did and much more - clearly designed by someone who knows about using a slide rule instead of a calculator.
good start, needs improvement
The app looks great and works well, but there is a serious limitation. When working with a slide rule three things need to be quickly visible: the cursor, and both ends. Currently you have to (slowly) scroll to see the ends, and that moves the cursor. It would greatly improve the usefulness of the app if you could simply flick to the ends. Otherwise a great start. Looking forward its being really useful.

Version 1.1.0 Comes Through!
I downloaded this app half a year ago, and while I was impressed with a lot of things about it... slide movement, graphics, scales to choose from... the inability to rearrange scales, especially having C above D on the slide and stator respectively, made it fall short. The developer promised an update was in the works, and he really came through with this one. Outstanding implementation of a slide rule on an iPod/iPhone interface. A solid 5 stars, and worth waiting for.

The only way to top this is to use an actual Slide Rule!
I have been using a Slide Rule since I was eight and I still do. I even teach classes on how to use the Slide Rule, so trust me when I say that this is THE App to get if you want to try your hand using one. The rendering of scales is precise, clear and easy to use. You can even choose the scales that you want on each of the pieces, (the top and bottom stators and the slide). There is even a descriptive help file to tell you what each scale is for and its mathematical function! Every feature to aid you in learning or practicing is there, even to allowing the cursor to show the actual numerical values that are currently under the hairline! With this feature, iSlideRule acts like an interactive Slide Rule manual because gaining the ability to accurately read the scales caused no end of students many problems in mastering this essential skill. I could go on and on about this fantastic App, but I think you get the point. Now, get the App!

Not much good.
The tick marks on the images are blurred, not crisp lines. This renders the app pretty much useless. Save your money.

Well I'm just an amature at this but I can honestly say this thing works! People have complained that there's not enough realestate showing of the rule on the screen and everytime they scroll over they upset their adjustments to find the answer. It allows u to scroll in either direction using so the center line thingy and works great. I only wish it had E6b log scale or that it could be set to a bezel "prayer wheel" for pilots use. But other then this wish, it's perfect in that u don't have to carry one in your pocket. Thanks fir the nice effort guys!

Not very useful, alas.
I may be missing something, but there doesn't seem to be a way of ordering the scales . . . A/B and C/D are miles apart and can only be used with the cursor. This alone makes it quite useless as a replacement for a real SR. Pity, as there's a good range of scales and the rule itself is quite readable. If only there were a way of positioning the scales! As things stand, I'm deleting it from my phone and hoping the feature will be added someday so I won't have wasted my money.

Nice job
Landscape mode is real nice. Lots of scales to choose from. Can move the rule itself, the slider, and the cursor. Well done.
Looks great, but not useful
The slide rule looks really good, but I could not use it as a slide rule. The main problem was that I had no easy way of moving the entire rule (with slide staying put in the rule body) across to see a number to the right. I could move the body or the slide, but not both together, at least not consistently. A minor annoyance was that, although I could choose dozens of scales, they came out in the designed order, not what I am used to. For example, I could not put the C scale at the bottom of the slide.

Very comprehensive
This is a smooth and very complete slide rule simulation. However, finding the controls to choose the scales & colours puzzled me for a while - they turn up under the main settings app, not within the app itself. I'm sure lots of other apps use this device but it was new to me.
It Works Fine
I've always wanted to learn the slide rule - don't know why . I used to know once upon a time. Anway, for $2 this functions fine. I might, if I may without violating rules, say that a nice PDF full of sliderule instructions is available for free at http://www.sliderules.info/a-to-z/instructions.htm and I am finding it helpful. I do wish there was a way to be able to expand it at a critical time - to read answers better, but realize that given how a sliderule functions works against that.
This is the type of app I think is neat to have on my Touch.

Functional once you understand
I had the same problem as the first reviewer. I contacted the developer (very prompt response). The problem was that I expected the slide to move freely, but the program functions with the slide stationery using the cursor to find the answer. Once I understood how to use it, it worked as expected. Elegant interface; very prompt developer response; a good purchase to show off the graphics of the phone.

Pretty, but disfuctional
This is a nice, very customizable app, but it fails to be usable. The fatal flaw is the inability to move the sliderule to view solutions. Attempting to do so invalidates the answer. A simple solution I hope to see in a future update would be to fix the position of the slide and cursor relative to the rule when moving the rule.
