I wanted an app to help with spelling. This app gives you a tiny slice of a word and asks you to guess what it is. Foolish game.
App not useful
I do not find this app useful in teaching spelling at all. It's not even interesting to use.
Disappointed
This app is about typing the word you see on the screen.

Bug Fixed - Back in Business
this new version takes care of a bug that messed thing up on my iphone4 this is simply a great game... noticed that now it's under Education, which is probablhy better since even though it plays in some ways like a game it is definitely good for learning how to spell better. Teachers need to know about this then no more boring spelling homework.

Wow! Definitely not what I was expecting from a spelling app. What a great game to peak little ones interest in recognizing letters! My nephew thinks it's the funniest thing when the laser goes off. And I think it's the funniest thing when he recognizes the words before me! It's actually fun for both of us. I'm a teacher and I'm so going to try and use this on my smartboard next year with my K class!
By the way, don't feel bad if you can't get the highschool/college words (I've got a couple of degrees and I'm still lost sometimes) & the mind bender ones, well they're just insane. Definitely won't get bored playing those!

Addicting- in a good way.
A teacher recommended the I Spell Better app for my son who is having trouble with his spelling. He took to it immediately. The first night he played for hours. When he went to bed I decided to try it for myself. I've always been a good speller so I started at an advanced level. It was really challenging. Like my son I played for a long time - I even missed The Daily Show! I went to bed feeling "smarter." I bet my son did, too.

Too many bugs
This app could have been great but there are too many bugs; to the point where one cannot finish a level and the same words are repeated too often. A waste of money.
Loved it but now it keeps crashing
Such a great concept. My daughter loved it, but now she cries out of frustration when it just turns off and when you go back it won't let you even resume....

This is a fantastic, fun and very educational game.

Getting better grades in spelling!!
Getting my 1st grader to study her weekly spelling lists was impossible. She loves playing with my iPhone, so I'm trying out as many "edutainment" apps as I can (especially if they're under 2 bucks!). This is definitely the best spelling app that I've found. She loves playing it!! The custom word lists are perfect for us. And...not to mention that I can't get anywhere with the hard lists when I play... Thank you so much Dr. Swartz!! Please tell me that you have a math app coming soon!!

Finally!
Finally a spelling game my son (who hates spelling but needs more practice) loves to play. It's an ingenious way of having the kids think of how to spell words without them feeling like they're being taught.

Wow, talk about addictive! I love playing challenging word games... but ispellbetter tops them all! Thinking this would be a piece of cake because spelling is my forte, I played on level 4 of 6 my first round and it was HARD. If you are a determined player, this is for you! Upsidedown, backwards, upsidesdown and backwards... and be careful, the words start to disappear as the stage progresses. As I find myself playing over and over, I'm starting to learn some different strategies... DON'T WASTE YOUR POWERUPS. You will need them if you want to conquer the game. I know there are sooooo many apps out there... but you will be missing out on hours of fun if you don't snatch this one up! It is truely one of a kind!!!
