I just went through the struggles of blindly setting a server up, and now this is making me want to punt my phone off a mountain. I have used AI to try and figure out what is going wrong. The android version I setup is running great. iOS won’t let me actually click the certificate for server import. I can’t manually enter the server info QR doesn’t work.

Imagine Apple taking a working product and making it their own less capable less intuitive design, that’s iTAK. Every time I come back to iTAK I am always disappointed. Yes they have made minimal updates but when compared to ATAK it’s completely obsolete. You can’t share data packages between the two and there are a plethora of tools available for ATAK for your specific applications. If you really need ATAK then you really need an Android, otherwise you’re wasting your time.

Shines in simplicity, pales in features
This app has the smoothness and simplicity of an iOS app, but greatly lacks the feature richness of ATAK. It’s a trade-off that isn’t well communicated in the app description. Not sure who is funding this effort, but it certainly feels intentional.
Connection issues
I have been connection issues with my server, the app connects for a few minutes then disconnects. However I’m still connected to the server as I can still receive video and send data from the server. When this happens and it’s “disconnected” from the server all contacts are gone and no contacts are overlayed on the map. Data sync doesn’t work, I’m able to receive data sync however can’t send markers and an error comes up.

ATAK
Why can’t it be more like the ATAK version utilized on Android devices. If it was the same but on iPhone, I would pay for it.

The app would’ve been good if the sign up process didn’t take a rocket science degree overall not streamlined and clunky. Make it where you can sign in and connect with the account you make on the website so that anyone can navigate it and use it

Missing Meshtastic
This is desperately missing support for Meshtastic and LORA devices.
High potential with current shortfalls
iTAK has a lot of potential, but there needs to be more updates to fix the bugs. Can’t connect via mesh network, app crashes when sharing packages, etc.
PACKAGES EXPORT PROBLEM
The app is complet and everything fine, but I’ve got a problème with exporting the package, at the moment I click on the export button the app crash, can you do anything to fix that ??

Does “Enable Mesh Network Mode” cause iTAK broadcast CoT events via UDP?
Great but buggy…
Great app when it’s working properly has several paths where it will crash.
For example trying to upload a data package which contains a local file seems to make the app crash 10/10 times.

Indoor Mapping not Functional
The indoor mapping is not functioning correctly. When I go to place the phone on the “red line” it automatically shuts me out of the app.
It’s great, but lacks the features of ATAK
iTAK is a fantastic app. It’s easy to use, fairly intuitive. My only real problem with it is that for some reason, GRG does not work & the ability to call a casevac isn’t there. That’s not the end of the world for most people, but it is a feature I’d like to see.
However, the core functions are present and work really well. The only problems you’ll have is with your server.

Used to be good….
It worked ok for a while and then all of a sudden out of nowhere for no reason whatsoever it just stopped using the overlays I used. So now it’s completely useless to me….
Great for work
This is a great app for work and traveling while in the military. We use it to build out training and connect people.
