No Live Stream
Why is the Live viewing option in the app not available with the app version on my new Sony Bravia smart TV? Recently installed the app so it is the latest. This is a big problem for me ITV.

What a truly awful viewing experience watching anything on ITVX is. Relentless ads that seem to come every 3 minutes, constant streaming crashes and awful interface. I could look passed the last two if I didn’t spend more time watching ads than I did the stream I was trying to watch
Why would I pay for premium?
The basic option is such a poor experience why would I opt and pay for a premium version?
When watching a series, the mechanism often jumps two or more episodes and my time is spent trying to get back to the episode I want to watch.
Adverts are soooo boring with endless fake crack crunching sounds to make the food appear fresh and appealing and the compulsory repeating of the advert name usually six times within the 30seconds.
Not just up to four adverts as listed, there is usually a free ad to begin with and then followed by two ‘recommendations’. So you can end up with up to 7 advertisements. These are sometimes interrupted by a split second of the episodes you are trying to watch and you have the whole advert bombardment again!
I end up turning the sound off, going onto my phone for something more interesting or making a hot drink and swearing I will go back to DVD’s.
This app is a very poor experience. There is no way I would pay for the premium.

The app is more obsessed with adverts and viewer enjoyment.
You can’t watch GMTV on catch up via The restart the program from the beginning and it constantly crashes. You can’t watch any program on catch up without having to watch all the adverts even when you try and fast forward. to where you last watched.
Advert clearly take priority – GMTV having to watch from the beginning and then it crashes after 40 minutes virtually every time– this app is just useless – everybody else has far better apps and it’s not a patch on the BBC.
ITV need to get somebody that knows what they’re doing to do their apps for them.
ITV want £5.99 to avoid advrrts – and it looks as though if you don’t pay that, then you just have to suffer their absolutely awful apps obsession with adverts and instability.

Bad UX causes you to rewatch ads
If you loose connection with WiFi, the shows refuse to reload. You must click off and then when you go back in, forced to watch at least a minute of ads. Forcing people to watch ads every time they open a show is so extreme, I’d prefer just having regular intervals, but the combination of both means you’ll watch ads when you click in to a show, and then 2 minutes in watch the regularly scheduled ads. Such a frustrating system that makes me click off ITVX in seconds.

I’ve never come against a more unstable app. If 4 adverts several times wasn’t waring enough it crashes through the 2nd or 3rd advert. Just freezes and does nothing. You go back, select what you were watching, click resume and “something’s gone wrong” so you restart the programme and when you get to first set of adverts, freezes and repeat. In last hour it’s done it 3 times. I’ve given up

Uuuhhhhhh there are so many ads if you don’t pay and I don’t want to pay because it’s a waste of money but there are like 10 ads in 1 episode
Some irritating features
The adverts are incredibly repetitive, putting you off products rather than selling them to you. If you stop watching near adverts, you need to watch introductory ones again, as well as the ones that were coming up when you stopped. If you try and skip a bit of a program, a buffering message often comes up all the program gets stuck. It’s all rather frustrating.

Absolute pants, the ads are bad enough, but it’s constantly freezing and restarting. None of the other apps do this. Get it sorted ITV!!

Subtitles impossible to see
I loved this app until recently, when an update changed the subtitles format, causing a huge accessibility problem for me. I rely on subtitles as I have hearing issues, and instead of the text being large and easily visible at the bottom of the screen, the text was displayed in a very tiny size at the top of the screen meaning I couldn’t even see it. I contacted customer service who said they can’t do anything to fix it, so I can no longer watch anything on ITVX. I’m sure I’m not the only one affected by this, so I hope they will finally resolve this technical error so people with accessibility issues can still watch their favourite programmes.

Too many adverts & far too many technical issues!!!
ITVX has become really frustrating to use. There are far too many repetitive adverts & the server seems to crash regularly while you’re actually watching a programme. When you reload the app after a crash, you’re then forced to sit through another load of adverts all over again. Strangely, the adverts seem to have no problem playing & are extra loud!
The ad-free subscription is also quite expensive, especially when the overall app experience still feels so unreliable.
The app can also be very slow to make programmes available, particularly live ITV News content. Usually, when eventually released on the app after a while, it’s broken up into segments rather than giving you the option to watch the full programme as it was originally aired.
The live player is another major problem. If I restart a live programme from the beginning, it will randomly interrupt what I’m watching and jump me back to the current live broadcast. Sometimes it even switches me to a completely different live programme. This makes watching something from the beginning incredibly frustrating.
ITVX has some great programmes, but the app itself needs a serious overhaul. Please fix the crashes, improve the live player, reduce the repetitive advertising & make programmes available instantly as they air or straight afterwards.

Downloaded content didn’t play
Couldn’t play my downloaded content despite being within expiry due to ‘an error’ when on aeroplane :(
