Great app, but it stopped working after YouTube changes.
Could you consider bringing back support for individual API keys now that YouTube seems to have broken yours?

Hello, Ivory doesn't use youtube api anymore, there's no need in key.
Significantly better after last update
The app now loads channels and new videos properly on iOS 16. Very usable. Great alternative to YT.

Share Sheet Doesn’t Work
Playing a video from the share sheet starts the video, but using the shared sheet again on a second video only replays the first. It doesn’t start the second as it should.

Loving the new updates was waiting on video playback speed to be added and now this app is perfect 😍
Good app but lacks polish in some areas
Overall I like the app and it does as advertised. My main gripe is that occasionally nothing will load due to a “sever error”. Said errors happen frequently enough to be annoying. My other problem is the playlist feature. The “next up” feature is blatantly broken. I would love to see the “playlist” feature get a overhaul. If all these issues could be resolved I would consider this a 5 star app.

Almost great…
Background play works great but playlists are pretty much broken. Anytime I try playing a video in a playlist the next video is stuck on only one video out of the entire playlist. So it doesn’t cycle through the videos, it’s only able to play the second video on its own. Please fix!
Some Server Error Ocurred
Can no longer share to Ivory. It opens Ivory, and then opens Safari. Going back to Ivory displays the message “ Some Server Error Ocurred”

Simply the best alternative player for YouTube with lots of excellent features. Great development and regular updates.
My Favorite YouTube Player also on M1 Macs
Of all the iOS apps that I can install on my M1 Mac, this is the one I am most excited about!
It works really well - even with Picture in Picture support and is a better user experience than having to use the YouTube web interface.

Thank you for creating the best youtube alternative I love your app on my iphone and ipad but lately I haven't been able to use it. It seems that after adding two channels to my favorites i get a message that says i have reached my api quota. I have tried trouble shooting deleting my api on youtube and making new one but no use. the app doesnt work. PLEASE HELP :,-(

Unfortunately Youtube limited quota to minimum for the app, they don't like that you watch it without ads. You have two options:
1) Ask apple for refund Ivory and use native youtube app with showing ads each 5 minute, or pay them each month for Youtube premium.
or
2) Tap on big green button at the center of the screen with caption 'How to fix this error', that would help you to fix this error. Create your own API key (with your own youtube quota limit that you won't share with other people) and put it in the settings screen.

Immediately gives an error about API keys, won't play videos.
This app immediately gives an error when you open it or "it seems Youtube API quota limit has exceeded" along with "retry" and "how to fix this error".
The tutorial for fixing the error seems reasonably thorough, but requires signing into your google account, and creating a "project" as if you were an app developer integrating YouTube into your app, rather than a customer using someone else's.
This app does not explain if the API error and workaround is a temporary state, or if the app will be entirely nonfunctional until I configure it. If it is a permanent and essential workaround that's needed, the app should really give a much better onboarding experience than to present you with an error message immediately.
For a paid app it should really warn you before downloading that you need a google account, and to set up your own api key before use.
I will probably update this review if/when the problem is solved or I get around to setting up the API key, and can actually experience the app as intended.

Only 720p?!
The maximum resolution you can watch videos at is only 720p! In the year 2020, that's straight-up unacceptable.
Really stepped it up in the new update.
App used to have a few glitches but now they all seem to be gone. Works incredibly well now.
Updated consistently and currently working great
Youtube is always changing stuff on the backend, which can make apps like this stop unable to play certain videos.
Thankfully, the developer updates it every few weeks to keep up with Youtube and as far as I know, this is the only app that still works for watching YouTube besides the YouTube app.
