A Great Idea & An Improving Experience
The app is great for checking into locations and letting others know you are there to meet potential partners. I love the map centric approach and the fact that I don’t need to spend hours on my couch swiping through profiles. I’m looking forward to more people discovering the app and seeing it organically grow.
If you want an app that encourages you to meet people in real life and doesn’t require you waste time doom swiping give it a go. This app definitely requires users to actively engage with other people for it to be successful. The more people who commit to it the better it gets.
In a world where social interactions face to face come at a premium this app provides a foundation to be a better person, to challenge yourself to grow, and to encourage yourself to talk to other people.
Those who want a dating experience that mimic online shopping apps will be disappointed. Those who want to be better humans and meet better matches will find that it provides the platform.
It’s not for the lazy.

Probably the worst app I’ve ever used
First of all… the concept is so unsafe. Second of all the fake engagement to boost numbers... this app is definitely a spam. I don’t think I have ever seen a profile on this. Waste of time.
big fan
game changer, love the events and how ivy breaks the ice
I am… HAPPY (and grateful)
I spent so much time on swipe apps, looking for THE one for me. I feel I wasted so much time, energy, and even money for a dead end… I rlly prefer in person meetings over that but never found it. Fast forward to now, my best friend brought me to an ivy event at a local spot which changed, EVERYTHING. The way I approach dating is now different!! I even open the app at the gym because there’s a guy I crush on. Guess who was on Ivy dating ???? Well I guess I’ll have to come back and update the community because we have a date coming up after I messaged him, and he came up to me so fast. THANKS IVY DATING❤️

Extremely convenient
The full experience is only live in Chicago as of May 2026 (which is kind of annoying if you don’t live here), but I do!
I use Ivy everyday. The map tells me the dating activity in Chicago (single people open to connecting RIGHT NOW at different spots and also things like places with recent check ins, views, ect.) They also do events where there are ALWAYS people checked in.
The profile is just my name, age and a pic (they see profiles as a way to recognize someone in real life, not to share about your personality — this is meant to happen when you are actually in the same room). NO ONE CAN SEE MY PROFILE UNLESS WE ARE BOTH CHECKED AT THE SAME PLACE, I only appear on the map as a “1” until someone shows up at my exact venue. You can tell they think a lot about trust and safety, I can check out at anytime and disappear (think SnapChat but for an actual venue).
Here’s my Ivy routine for where I check in:
Gym in the morning
Coffee shop for work
Nights out
My friends and I all check in together and we can meeting multiple people in the same night. I actually had someone interesting approach me while I was passively doing work, pretty cool.
They are new and growing fast, but if I’m at a spot that doesn’t have anyone else checked in I can leave a note behind (they call it a breadcrumb), which can only be read at that venue.
They are constantly putting out new releases and I can tell they are working hard to make this work.
Very excited about this one - it’s called Ivy Dating, but I don’t really use it like I would a dating app.
More people in Chicago = better experience for everyone..try it please!
