Just the best

I’ve been using Ivy since the beta, and Semantical is probably the best developer team I’ve interacted with. The team over there really cares about this app, and is willing to spend weeks hunting down a bug with you to make sure Ivy is in the best state it could possibly be. More importantly though, Ivy’s workflow is just PRISTINE. I used to use time blocking as my main strategy for tasks, but it got overwhelming. I found that I was spending too much time working in my task app compared to actually getting things done. So the simplicity of Ivy has been absolutely incredible for me.

Would recommend this app to anyone. Period. Even people who are afraid that the system might be “too simple:” give it a try. You might like the zen of it.

My favorite todo list app BY FAR

I’ve tried many todo list apps over the years and Ivy is the one that just truly works for me. Instead of tasks endlessly piling up, it allows you to plan your day each morning and stay on top of things. My favorite part is how it automatically moved completed tasks to review, so that they don’t just pile up and make me feel overwhelmed. I love how it had a calendar integration letting you see when you can do things, not just what you have to do.

When I first opened the app it seems deceptively simple, but it has all of the features I need. Tasks that you count (ie water plant two times), tasks with duration, notes and reminders for the task, etc. It’s probably the most polished app I have ever used, which is not an exaggeration at all. Everything is insanely snappy, fluid, and well designed. As a member of the beta I can tell you that the developer is extremely responsive to user feedback and puts a lot of craft into the app.

Don’t let the lack of reviews fool you. I never write reviews but just had to write one for this app since it’s had such a big impact on my life. There’s a reason all the reviews are five stars. Personally I’ve found Ivy to be better than Things 3, Todoist, TickTick, etc. just because of how simple and polished yet powerful it is. So give it a shot, and kudos to the developers!

Just what I’ve been looking for

I’ve used pretty much every mainstream planning app but something that I dislike about all of them is that either tasks you don’t finish roll over indefinitely (cluttering your daily tasks space) or they disappear into the void.

This app strikes the balance. Tasks do not roll over; you get a clean day. But they also don’t disappear out of sight out of mind because of the planning mode that helps you choose your tasks for the day.

Microsoft Todo has similar functionality but it’s become very buggy and lacks polish, and I don’t like that you can’t set recurring todos to “after completion”. You can in this app!

The only thing I wish this app had was a way to make lists or categories, but a perfectly usable workaround has just been to integrate it with the Apple Reminders app. In Ivy each integrated todo maintains the Reminders list name as a label under the task.

So basically I use Reminders for organizing my master list of todos and Ivy for planning things out.

Superb UX Patterns

I was a TestFlight user of Ivy, and have been WAITING for this moment ever since.

Thoughtful ui/ux/new primitives make it so easy and almost-enjoyable to manage your life using Ivy.

Kudos to the team

The Details

Gah! The craft! The UX polish and details. It feels truly intuitive and I love the simplicity of committing to a days work, reviewing and repeating. Thank you!

Incredible

I LOVE Ivy. I started using it as a simple TODO list, and it was great for that. Then I slowly discovered more and more powerful things it could do, so now I use it for everything. It helps me stay on top of soooo many things that are important to me.

I use it for my daily habits:
- Meditate
- Exercise 30minutes (Ivy has timed tasks)
- Drink enough water (it has count-based tasks)
- practice guitar etc

I use Ivy to pick the handful of things that I want to get done each day. Its Plan feature lets me quickly scan my full list and delete or complete things, or schedule them for another day.

I use it to stay focused during the day on my most important things, and then also to stay focused on my current task via Ivy's Focus feature. It's perfect cause otherwise my brain likes to wander :)

I use Ivy at the end of the day to celebrate what I got done and schedule anything still important that I didn't get to.

I love it. I can't wait for the Mac app.

The perfect companion for my daily tasks

I’ve been using Ivy for around a year and a half since the beta testing days, and the evolution of the app has been incredible.

The experience feels truly top-notch, and it has become one of the most important apps in my daily routine for managing my to-dos. My favorite feature is definitely the Live Activity integration — having my tasks always visible at a glance on the Lock Screen is extremely useful and feels so natural on iPhone.

One thing I really appreciate is how much the developers listen to their users. You can clearly see the feedback reflected in the app through thoughtful improvements and great design decisions over time.

Highly recommended if you want a beautiful and reliable productivity app.

Dear Reader

I’ve been using the beta version of Ivy for over a year. I know it’s common to see probably-fake App Store reviews claiming that the app “changed my life”, so I understand if you’re unsure whether to believe me when I say that Ivy truly did change my life.

I’ll start with an analogy. I’m a programmer by profession, and what happens sometimes in programming is that you discover that your code is doing something in a massively inefficient way. Maybe it’s recalculating some large value many times per second, when it could have just calculated it once and saved it. When you finally notice the problem area and fix it, your app suddenly becomes lightening fast, and it is so satisfying that with that one little change you were able to save so much waste.

This is what Ivy has done for my life. The waste was that I would go through my days constantly remembering little tasks that I needed to do, but since it was usually not the right time to actually do them I would just hope that I remembered again when the time was right, and so I ended up remembering (and stressing) about the same task dozens of times over the course of days, weeks or months before finally doing it (or maybe just accepting that I would never do it). What Ivy gives me is a beautiful, fast, clean and satisfying interface that lets me capture each little task like a pokemon, in the moment when I first think of it. After a short while of beginning to capture tasks in Ivy, my mind was able to slow down and stop endlessly scanning for what I might be forgetting, because I knew that the vast majority of what I needed to do was written clearly in a single place. I became many times more effective. Emails got replied to, tax refund requests got filed, lightbulbs got changed.

I wish them same blessing upon you, dear reader.
