IXL is hell.
IXL is a place for baseless lies to degrade upon students. As if the school systems already don’t wreck their mental health, they have to put THIS with it as well.
Getting a question wrong takes you from Mount Everest to the pits of hell, just because 2+2=4 and NOT 5, does not mean i have to go from 85 to -52.
Not to mention, but it’s also racist. Just because I’m of african descent does not mean the “Not quite..” screen gets turned into many racial slurs. Just for your information IXL, i’m a STUDENT, not a slave.
The diagnostic is useless, it gives you elementary school questions, and if you get that right it goes ALL the way to college. And half of those skills this sweatshop, money-hungry company gives me will NEVER get done.
The games? They’re not even fun. I can’t tell you the amount of times my teacher told me to play IXL games instead of regular ones. It’s like watching paint dry. Its like watching caterpillar go into its cocoon to turn into a butterfly. I’d rather drop the soap in prison and let Big Rashawn get me than EVER play these games.
The videos don’t help either. What’s the point of even having a video option when no student resorts to it, it’s either suffer or listen to this AI generated voice talk you to your death.

IXL is the most demoralized “Learning app” app ever created. One mistake doesn’t mark you wrong it destroys your progress like it’s trying to punish you for existing. You can answer 20 questions perfectly, slip once, IXL deducts by 3-5 questions or more and those’s 20 questions could be 15 and 5 questions worth of progress gone instantly. The SmartScore is not “Smart” it’s a stress generator designed to drag out work and make students feel like failures.
The questions get confusing, the closer you get to finishing, the whole experience drops faster then your sanity, and the whole experience feels like a punishment disguised as an Education. Nothing about this app motivates learning, it only motivates anger and frustration. If I could I would give it 0 stars, I would. IXL needs a complete redesign or to be completely removed from reality inside the classrooms.
