About

Holiday Alarm automatically keeps your alarm quiet on Japanese national holidays, your paid leave and shift days off — and returns to your usual time afterwards. HOLIDAYS AND YOUR DAYS OFF Uses the Cabinet Office holiday data, including substitute holidays. Add paid leave, company holidays or the New Year break (Dec 29–Jan 3). Working on a holiday? Make the alarm ring just that day. SHIFTS AND BIWEEKLY Weekly, every other week, monthly (e.g. 2nd and 4th Saturday) or shift cycles of 2–28 days (e.g. 4 on / 2 off). Every repeat can skip holidays and days off. SKIP JUST TOMORROW Swipe a card, tap a widget or Control Center, or ask Siri to skip only the next alarm. Undo anytime. SEE THE NEXT 14 DAYS Home shows your next alarm and which days ring (sun) or rest (moon). The calendar shows holiday names — tap a date to ring or rest just that day. GENTLE SOUNDS Soft sounds with fewer high tones that start gently: Morning Mist, Sunny Piano, Canon (Pachelbel), Minuet in G (Bach), Marimba Breeze, a singing bowl, Für Elise, Ode to Joy and Komorebi — plus wind chimes, koto and more. New sounds arrive without an app update. Gradually louder versions and a real test alarm in 2 minutes. WEATHER-AWARE See the current weather and temperature on Home, with a sky that shows rain, snow and clouds, and a 10-day forecast in the calendar. Optionally ring earlier when rain or snow is forecast (Premium). FEWER SURPRISES Alarms are scheduled up to 28 days ahead and extended whenever you open the app or stop an alarm. If you haven't opened the app for a while, you'll get a reminder 3 days before the schedule runs out (with notifications allowed). FREE AND PREMIUM Free to download. Holiday skipping, the New Year break, skip-next, 15 sounds and widgets are free. Premium is a one-time purchase (not a subscription): more than two repeating alarms, biweekly/monthly/shift repeats, days off, ring-on-this-day, earlier on rainy days and the new sounds. If you bought version 1.x, all features remain unlocked without purchase. BEFORE YOU START Requires iOS 26 or later and alarm permission. Background refresh is up to iOS, so schedules may not be extended if you don't open the app for a long time. Test on your device before important days. PRIVACY No personal data is collected. Settings stay on your device. Network access is limited to the holiday CSV, added sounds and, if you turn weather on, Apple’s weather service. No ads, tracking or account. What's New in Japan Holiday Alarm Clock

2.3.0

October 20, 2026

Version 2.3 makes sounds easier to choose. • The Sound screen is now organized into Wake Gently, Wake Refreshed, Wake for Sure and Japanese Sounds. Each shows a few picks; the rest are under More Sounds • New: New Sound Each Day. Pick two or more sounds and one plays each day in random order, never the same sound two days in a row, so it is harder to tune out • Eight new sounds: Dawn Music Box, Little Bird Waltz, Lo-fi by the Window, Morning Acoustic, City Pop Morning, Bell March, 8-bit Morning, Koto Sunrise (four are free) • Anonymous stats on which sounds are popular help us choose recommendations. Nothing identifies you or your device, and you can turn it off in Settings
