It’s refreshing to use an app that actually works. It does loose kana searches because it already knew you wanted that. It shows results instantly. It matches conjugations. It hooks into Anki. There’s a shortcut button to clear the search text. It’s the highest quality experience you can get with a dictionary. It feels good to use this software. Fantastic work.

Great app but needs work
I love takoboto as a dictionary and use it exclusively on desktop. I also used only the app for it on android, but for iOS the interface is a lot more clumsy and feels much worse, leading me to not really use the app. If they made the interface look how it does on android I would instantly switch to using this app but until that happens I do not use it. Really hoping they update it to be nicer to use and look at.

Best Japanese dictionary I’ve used so far
Thanks for this excellent app — it’s really helpful and extremely functional even with the free version. Two minor suggestions would be to increase support for keyboard shortcuts and to include an ‘x’ button inside the search box to clear the field and make new searches even easier.
No dark icon
Icon doesnt change to dark, looks very out of place.

The only Japanese dictionary you’ll need
Being able to search kanji by their radicals is extremely useful. Have been using the app since I heard of it two years ago, and never used a different one since.
Better on android
The android version is way more fun to use
