About

Japanese Flick teaches the flick keyboard that Japanese people actually use on their phones, and how to write kana (hiragana + katakana). You don't just read; you learn by typing. WHAT IS FLICK? Flick is the standard keyboard on Japanese phones. It has 12 keys, and each key represents a row of kana. Tap a key to type its base sound, then press and slide up, down, right or left to type the other kana in that row. Most learners never see this keyboard. This app teaches exactly that. HOW IT TEACHES - An interactive flick try at the start: slide the letter with your finger for the real flick feel. - Hiragana and katakana sets, step by step. - Reflex Dojo: speed and muscle memory. - Spaced repetition (SRS) so you remember what you learn. - Games: 60 Seconds, Flow, Shiritori. - Free writing and a word album that grows as you discover (hundreds of N5 words). MADE WITH CARE - Recorded pronunciations: all 104 kana and hundreds of words. - Calm, premium design; no clutter, no noise. - Turkish and English interface. - Light and dark themes. HONEST AND PRIVATE - Works offline once installed. (A few words without a recording use your device's own Japanese voice.) - No ads, no account, no tracking. - Collects no personal data and sends nothing to any server. Your progress stays on your device. We won't promise you'll understand anime by Friday. But you'll start recognizing what's written in kana, catch words, and actually type Japanese on your phone.

- The first sound of a word is no longer cut off. Every recording now starts with a longer lead-in, verified on physical devices. - Fixed an issue that caused some words to play no audio. - More reliable audio playback overall. - Words without a recording now use your device's Japanese speech, so nothing stays silent. - Fixed keyboard and button clipping on small and short screens. - Slightly larger keys on small screens. - Quick double taps no longer cause unintended zoom.
