Application à fuir !
L’application la plus chère, et pourtant la pire de l’app store !! La moitié de l’application est en français, l’autre en anglais pourtant leur site précise que tout est traduit. Pas de sauvegarde de votre avancée, donc si vous étiez à la leçon numéro 240 il faudra passer les 239 leçons à la main pour reprendre où vous en étiez. Pas d’échelle de niveau, on vous apprendra un mot de JLPT 5 au premier exercice puis un de JLPT 2 au deuxième. Bref n’achetez pas cette application…

Ich bin begeistert
Die App (und die zugehörige Kanji App) sind einfach perfekt. Am Anfang war ich nicht überzeugt bis ich herausgefunden habe, dass man alles individuell einstellen kann. Gibt es für eine Vokabel zum Beispiel eine Kanji und eine Katakana Lesung, kann man auf die gewünschte tippen und es wird gemerkt, auch für die Tests. In den Tests kann man auch vieles individualisieren. Außerdem finde ich die Test-Arten toll, insbesondere das Testen nach Audio oder fehlende Zeichen einsetzen habe ich so noch nirgendwo gesehen.
Die Preise sind mehr als fair, für was man bekommt und es ist kein nerviges Abo Modell.
Insgesamt bin ich dem Entwickler sehr dankbar für diese Apps!!

Ich finde die App gut. Tut was es soll, alles in Ordnung.
P.S.: Würde mich über eine automatische Stricherkennung freuen, so müssten die Antworten nicht selbst überprüft werden, ist aber nur eine Anregung, aber auch so ist sie die top App zum Lernen japanischer Vokabeln.

Great App, Wonderful Support!😀
After running into a few major issues with this app (which ended up being the fault of my device ) and emailing the developer I received immediate support. The app itself is smooth, simple, and fantastic for learning to write Japanese. This app is all about utility and it performs! There is a huge amount of content and many ways to test yourself and learn. The most unique and helpful feature that it offers is the ability to grade your own writing and stroke order in a step by step manner. There is no automatic writing detector to be picky and mark you wrong because the angle was "slightly off". This app makes studying and learning Japanese a breeze! It is an absolute must have for any learner! Thank you Jan for bringing this helpful tool to life! I don't have a single regret in purchasing this app and it's upgrade!

Gute App bis auf die Crashes
Die App ist sehr gut, vorallem mit dem 先生Modus. Es hilft sich dafür selber Testsets zusammenzustellen, leider gibt es nicht ganz so gute vordefinierte wie bei Kanji LS Touch.
Allerdings crashed die App bei mir reproduzierbar bei「無視」. Ausserdem ist die erste Vokabel im Übungsmodus meist falsch initialisiert, es ist haufig die letzte vorher aufgerufene die beim Start des Views als erste angezeigt wird. Nach dem Blättern ist dann eine andere Vokabel die erste. Das deutet auf ein Memory Management Problem hin.

Best Kanji App out there
This app is great when you use hiragana to find the vocabulary. However, it doesn't always give you what you're looking for if you type in English or German.
Also, it is kind of annoying that this app is separate from Kanji LS Touch if you're learning how to write kanji. This app is intended to help you study vocabulary and if you look for single kanji that do not occur as their own word, you're out of luck.

It works well as a study aid and as a dictionary, particularly if there are sample sentences that show you the usage of the word (which is sometimes very distinct from what you'd think of the translation). The only downside is that it's expensive and that certain functions are in separate apps, so that you have to spend even more money.

Not very happy with app
It's priced higher than most other apps but I spend a lot of time studying so I'm willing to spend a little money for a good app. Unfortunately the functionality of kanji and Japanese LS is split between two apps and I don't get that at all. I study kanji when I study vocab and vice versa. I own both apps but they're useless without the other's functionality. I'm a bit annoyed and will use other apps to study instead.

Love it but
I love this app, I have both the Japanese and kanji LS apps but they are completely broken right now on my iPad 2 iOS 5. Drawing won't work in practice or test modes
My everyday tool for vocabulary
My vocabulary and kanji learning has been totally dependant on this app. I practice everyday while commuting, and personally, I find it has been the best app on kanji memorization I've downloaded so far. It's a fantastic tool! I love it.
I just got some suggestions for improvement.
1) It would be really useful if we could edit the meaning of the words on the app itself.
2) If I switch applications while in the middle of a test, and go back to J LS T, it then starts the test all over again. In the previous updates it used to save where I left at. Also since the last update, I can't do 'Test all mistakes'. For some reason it starts the list with all the words again.

L'ordre des traits a disparu?
Excellente application que j'utilisais depuis plusieurs années en dilettante et grâce à laquelle j'ai atteint les 1000 kanjis en quelques mois.
Cependant! Il semble que dans la dernière mise à jour en mode interrogation la comparaison de l'ordre des traits entre le kanji qu'on a tracé et le modèle ait disparu! Ce n'est pas possible docteur!!

One of the better learning apps
While it's a little overpriced, this app provides features not found in any of the other Japanese teaching apps I've tried. The ability to create your own word sets and import/export them is great, and the search engine is very well done. The testing side of things is not as good as iKanji Touch, but still decent.
Overall, a very good piece of software, the only things stopping a five star rating are the price and the test system.
Edit: With the recent acquisition of an iPad, I've found this app to be a rather lacking in that it only runs in portrait mode on an iPad (though at least it's had its graphics updated), which is very limiting. Guess I'll be sticking to using it on my iPhone only.
2nd Edit: Now handles rotation on the iPad, and has had the interface changed somewhat. And the Dropbox syncing should mean we don't keep losing all our data when updating in future...

Ich habe mir die App gekauft, weil sie eine willkommene Alternative zu den üblichen Flashcard Apps ist. Insbesondere die Möglichkeit, Antworten handschriftlich zu geben (auch wenn man sie dann selbst bewerten muss) finde ich hervorragend. Schade nur, dass die Kanji in einer Kaisho-Schrift, die heute in Japan vor allem gedruckt verwendet wird, und nicht einer Gyosho-Schrift präsentiert werden, an die sich japanische Handschriften eher anlehnen. (Das Kanji 「言」 hat in Japanisch vier horizontale Striche über dem 「口」, während die meisten Japaner es handschriftlich doch eher mit einem senkrechten oder gekrümmten obersten Strich und drei horizontalen Strichen über dem 「口」 schreiben.
Der mitgelieferte Inhalt aus den frei zugänglichen JMDICT and KANJIDIC (die auch in vielen anderen Apps stecken, wie z.B. Pierre-Philippe di Costanzos Kotoba) ist leider nicht uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Während wohl kein einziger Eintrag für sich streng genommen falsch ist, wird kein Unterschied zwischen typischen und eher exotischen Einträgen gemacht; auch werden die Vokabeln vollkommen kontextfrei präsentiert.
Richtig absurd sind die mitgelieferten Beispielsätze, die als Lückentext verwendet werden können: Stellt man das leichtest mögliche mitgelieferte Vokabelset ein (JLPT Level 4), soll man Sätze wie 「新車時３００万円した車も＿では３０万円位だそうですから、もう少し乗ろうと思います。」「君たちは学生なんだ、こんなことをやれるのは＿だけだ。」「＿を選ぶ時は冷静に」「飛行機は墜落寸前に＿に旋回した。」 vervollständigen.
Etwas ausgeglichen wird es dadurch, dass man eigene Vokabelsets mit Vokabel, Lesung und Übersetzungen am Computer erstellen und herunterladen kann. Leider geht das mit eigenen Beispielsätzen jedoch nicht.
Mit professionell redigiertem Inhalt würde ich "Japanisch" vier bis fünf Sterne geben. Verglichen mit anderen Apps wie Kotoba 0 €, ShinKanji 5,49 € oder Daijirin 10,49 € finde ich 11,99 € für Japanisch aber deutlich zu teuer.

Great
Not too sure about Ryuu from Tokyo but I love this application. Vocab is divided by JLPT level and are learning how to write compound kanji. I recommend this application to all of my friends. Only suggestion is to have readings of unknown words in sentence test mode and to be able to write the kanji there instead of type it! 5 stars!!!

Completely useless - do not buy!
I just wasted a lot of money on this app, because the screenshots looked good and the description appeared to promise that the app actually tries to teach you something. However, that is not the case. There is no real learning mode. There is a "practice mode" (which does not deserve the name) where you can go through thousands of vocables and draw the corresponding kanji/kana. But that's it. The words are not packaged into lessons (only into the JLPT categories, which does not help a lot), so you literally feel as if you are learning all the words in the database at the same time. You can choose some "range" yourself, but that leaves you with an arbitrary set of words. There is practically no learning support coming from the app, and it is obvious that the developer has no idea how someone actually has to study vocables to make them stick in the brain.
The developer obviously just fed the huge public domain database into his app and did not make any effort whatsoever to package the vocables in some way to make the whole thing somehow digestible to a learner.
As a sidenote, the developer apparently never checked the database. The first word in the database is "yes", and the software claims that the japanese translation is "イェス". However, that is simply the japanese spelling of "yes". Weird.
The developer obviously just fed the huge public domain database into his app and did not make any effort whatsoever to package the vocables in some way to make the whole thing somehow digestible to a learner.

Useful but needs work
I find this app has some useful features, but it could use improvements in some places.
The font being used for writing doesn't represent real Japanese handwriting. 週 for example, the last 3 strokes are written differently than they appear in this font. さand きare other examples. In handwriting, the last stroke isn't connected to the rest of the character.
I would also like it if the iPad version could allow for the option of a smaller writing area. This would help to enforce the size of the actual characters when writing in real life. I feel the large space on the iPad doesn't help me learn as easily.

Die App ist genial, super gut zu bedienen und sehr umfangreich! Ein muss für jeden Japanisch Schüler!
Hatte am Anfang ein zwei kleine Probleme, hab eine E-Mail geschrieben und spitzen Support erhalten.
Verdiente 5 Sterne für die App und einen absolut verdienen 6ten Stern für die geduldige und schnelle Hilfe!!!!

Verbesserungsvorschlag

Dem WIEDERHULUNGSZEICHEN für Kanjis fehlt die STRICHREIHENFOLGE. Bitte ergänzen. Und es fehlt dem Wiederhulungszeichen ne wichtige Erklärung. Nämlich das die Japaner mit dem Zeichen das Pkural bilden. Zweimal das gleiche Zeichen schreiben würde kein Plural bilden.
