Missing link after 35 years
I just bought a Taylor acoustic and this is the missing link. I taught myself guitar in 1990, 35 years ago. I had no teacher and never found any book with these types of chords or they did not give me the chord degrees. And even if they did, I could never hear them in the book. The problem is, there is too much guitar hype especially in the rock genres, and everyone is teaching beginners how to play chords or rock licks. You can easily waste your time. Even looking through the apps, there is nothing more than the CAGED thing for beginners or silly games. So I have been playing your basic chords for 35 years until yesterday when I bought this. As someone who plays by ear and improvises this is TREMENDOUS. These chords can be selectively substituted into bland progressions and they create just the needed tension and release I have been looking for. If only the dice button was bigger and the controls better and the player better. But for what I get I still give it 5 stars. This is not a time waster like the other guitar apps. Worth the money. It has to be said the app functionality is awful. The chords don’t play from top string to bottom string sometimes, the play function does not allow you to control the speed of playback, the response is slow when you manually press the chords. The chord visuals don’t change as it plays, you just have to manually play and screen record. I have an iPad and iPhone both the same. The help button is meaningless and other links just link to the App Store for you to buy other apps even though they are good apps. But why still 5 stars? Because it’s purpose is for you to play better chords, and if that’s what you get with imagination, who cares? I was stuck in a rut for 35 years and now at 50 years old, I am no longer stuck.

Costly but also revolutionary
I have no connection with the developer but having gotten massive improvements from his other apps I eventually sprung for this. Insanely expensive but my early impressions are that it is working as designed. My ears are coming to life harmonically in a remarkably efficient way. I am a working guitarist so I can just about justify the investment. Remarkable innovation.
