Pay to play

The app itself is free, but you’ll have to pay 2.99 to access the game as soon as you open it.

Halfbrick is scummy. Just charge 2.99 for the app in the store and then leave the player alone

Nothing classic about it..

You need a subscription otherwise you get a trial. The games probably worth like 5 dollars, I should have an option to buy it outright. A subscription is completely unreasonable. Proof that times are changing, you can’t even enjoy a game you used to play as a kid in school because they butcher it so badly it becomes unrecognizable, so I was relieved to see a classic version as anybody who got to play this when it first came out knows how much fun it was. Nope, you can’t even do that. You can’t even enjoy a game you used to play freely every day as a kid because tiny money hungry little goblins have their stinky grubby hand out waiting for you to put money in it, so you can’t even look forward to playing the original. When you DO say okay fine, let me mess with the trial, the game dosent even have sound or music. You couldn’t even be bothered to make sure the game has sound but I guarantee the payment processor works without a hitch. You got your green little goblin fingers extra sticky huh? Trying to take advantage of nostalgia, by baiting people who you know were kids when this came out, into paying a subscription for a game that’s not even worth more than a few bucks. Of course you had to find a way to milk every dime. At least let me buy the game out right. At this point you’re better off just playing the current “Jet Pack Pay Up”. At least when apps wanted money in 2012, you usually got your moneys worth. At least in 2012, the app you spent money on usually worked. Y’all want money for something you couldn’t even bother to make sure worked properly. The classic game itself should be a single payment 5 dollars, what on earth is this subscription for? Shame on you for praying on the nostalgic memories this once great game gave me. I’m willing to bet the ones who made this gem aren’t even with halfbrick anymore. You should change your name to “Hollowbrick”.

Isn’t as good as the non classic

The non classic one lets you play it without pop ups and things that say you have to sign up to play more because the classic on you can only play for free for 30mins

Good until it’s not

Good game except for when it forces you to get a subscription

4 dollars a month for a 15 year old phone game????

Asking someone to pay for a phone game that was free 15 years ago is already egregious as it is but 4 dollars a month??? You don’t even get to own it. That’s 50 dollars a year to play jet pack joyride lol. What a scam. Instant delete. What a way to ruin a legacy. Hope it was worth it.

CORPORATE TAKEOVER

I remember booting this game up on my ipod 4 and playing for hours and now these people wanna put a subscription on it. We cant escape it

free… NOT

why does it cost money to play a mid game, waste of time

What a bummer dude

Thought I could just play some jetpack joyride but if I actually want the game I gotta get a subscription? I can’t just buy the game? Thats lousy. Love jetpack joyride but that is not it at all

Unsatisfied

honestly i only got this game because the new version is making you pay for so much more than how it was originally made but then thus game needs a subscription. yea no

How disappointing

Preface: I would be happy to buy this outright.

What I’m NOT happy about is the misleading/ false advertising.

You can’t play this game after the first session. It has a pop up that insists on you looking at plans. (You can click no thanks, but it’s not like a “close dialogue box” option pops up afterwards).

You click to look at plans. There’s no option to collapse the dialogue or link.
Oh and the plans are a subscription. Pfft. Rubbish.

Stupid

This game is horrible it makes you pay for a subscription so that you can play at all, you may as well play it on a free online game website.

NO MONEY

It would be better if it cost no money

staple of my childhood

fye soundtrack

So good

Sooooooooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooood

Terrible

I have downloaded for nostalgic reasons. This app sucks. You can’t play unless you pay. Awful

Just play the original game

If you want to make a game you pay for, either make it cost money or put micro transactions like the original game.
Developers turned greedy with subscription services. The game colossatron is the exact same.

Ужас

Ужасная игра, воспоминания о ней самые светлые, сейчас же даже в меню не зайти без покупки. Отлично сделали полудурки! Надеюсь ваша комания загнется!

Requires subscription

I downloaded this expecting to just be able to play JJ the way it always was with no ads. It was not made apparent anywhere on the appstore page that it required a subscription to Halfbrick+. Feels like false advertising, did Halfbrick sell to private equity or something?

L Subscriptions

Nobody wants to pay a monthly subscription to play a game they used to be able to play for free

not free

sick and tired of these greedy business practices, absolutely hate how these people want to charge for a game that was free at first
