For autistic students

Two students I worked with are 3-4 years old, non verbal, with poor engagement to the ipad. This app they both focused, the sound providing almost as much fascination as the balls. They liked it when the balls bounced rapidly against each other.

I tried it, but I don't see the purpose.

Is this just supposed to be a temporary distraction for a baby while you try to steal their candy? Because really, I don't think it will keep them distracted for that very long so you better be quick!
