9 years and counting
I first discovered Jim Fortin in 2017 when he was a guest on James Wedmore’s podcast. At the time, I was 19 or 20 years old and going through one of the most difficult periods of my life. I had tried countless ways to improve myself, but nothing seemed to stick. Then I listened to that podcast, and for the first time, I found myself thinking about life from an entirely different perspective.
The ideas Jim shared were unlike anything I had ever heard before. That single episode had such a profound impact on me that I listened to it so many times I eventually memorized almost the entire 1 hour and 9 minutes. It became something I returned to whenever I needed direction or a reminder of who I wanted to become.
Back then, I searched everywhere for more of his work—books, a podcast, anything—but couldn’t find much. If there had been more available, I would have consumed every bit of it.
Fast forward almost ten years. I recently felt like my sense of self-integrity was starting to slip, so I went back and listened to that same James Wedmore episode again. Out of curiosity, I searched for Jim Fortin’s work one more time, and to my surprise, I discovered not only his book but also his app.
It honestly felt like perfect timing.
Looking back, I can confidently say that the person I am today is completely different from the person I was when I first heard that podcast. While I still have room to grow—as we all do—many of the changes that transformed my life began with the perspective I gained from that conversation.
I’m excited to continue learning through the book and the app, and I’m grateful that his work is now more accessible than ever. It’s incredible how one podcast episode can change the trajectory of someone’s life. I’m just one of the many people whose life has been positively impacted by Jim Fortin’s teachings, and for that, I’ll always be thankful.
