About

See the confirmed shaking near the places that matter to you. JISHINDESU is an independent app that makes earthquake activity across Japan easier to understand. Check your home, family, workplace or travel destination using confirmed station observations rather than predictions. CHECK PLACES THAT MATTER • Center the radar on a selected place and view confirmed station Shindo • Switch between the last 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days • Save up to eight places with their own radius and minimum Shindo • See observation-station coverage while setting up a place UNDERSTAND EACH EARTHQUAKE • Epicenter, magnitude, maximum Shindo, depth and tsunami information • A map and list of JMA station observations • Distance from your saved places and the nearest confirmed reading • Notifications when a confirmed report matches your place settings EXPLORE HISTORY AND LOCAL DATA • Search and filter earthquake history by period, Shindo and magnitude • Browse confirmed histories for Japan’s prefectures and municipalities • Explore yearly activity, Shindo distribution, source regions and stations • View ground context where data is available PRIVATE BY DESIGN Saved-place names remain on your device. Coordinates are sent securely to JISHINDESU only when needed to return nearby observations, configure notifications or submit an optional felt report. Felt reports use an approximate location and are publicly shown only as aggregated areas after an anonymity threshold is met. No account is required. Earthquake information is independently organized from public data supplied by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) and P2PQuake. JISHINDESU is not an official service of JMA or any government authority. It does not provide Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) or earthquake prediction. Reports may be delayed, incomplete or corrected later. For safety-critical decisions, always check the latest information from JMA, local authorities and other official sources.
