This app is essential for any serious Lennon fan. To set the scene, in June 1980 John Lennon sailed from New York to Bermuda navigating a storm which he later described as the most exhilarating experience of his lifetime. Once settled in Bermuda he wrote all the songs for his Double Fantasy album in a period of only 3 weeks. John credited the sailing for making him centred and thus allowing for creative inspiration to flow, the songs came easily and when he returned to New York City recording began on what would be his last studio album. This app beautifully illustrates John's Bermuda escape with music, audio interviews, photos, stunning illustrations, and animations. It's an immersive and interactive experience full of surprises and captures the essence of John and his inner creative journey at the time. Bermuda for John was a creative awakening of sorts after 5 years of seclusion and time away from songwriting. Another reviewer above said the app developer had lost interest in this app, however it is a finished creation, thoughtfully and thoroughly realised to completion with no further need for updates. I only just discovered this app in November 2016 and it is a delight. I love hearing the 'Bermuda Tapes' - the rough demos of songs that would later be recorded in NYC. It's fascinating to hear John's songwriting process and his interviews offer much insight. This app deserves more attention. Highly recommended.
