Buggy abandonware

UPDATE TO 1 STAR BECAUSE IT’S ABANDONED
The app is nicely designed, but unfortunately is incredibly buggy: notifications are a mess (you either get none, or 3 in a row), widgets are useless, the app froze on me several times when I was editing something. Last update was 6 months ago. Developers don’t respond to bug report emails and I regret paying money, what a waste of

Form over function

Good looking app, bad UI. Swipe controls for start and end times for events is awful. Use the native iOS inputs or let the user just type in the time.

Nice but

Clean design. Easy to add tasks. BUT, I keep getting notifications for tasks that don’t exist. I believe these are the demo tasks that I had deleted.

Not quite there yet

Update 15 Dec 25: the latest app update has fixed most of the issues I was having. So pleased because I really like the simplicity of this app. Unfortunately I am unable to set time on tasks or add habits with custom frequency. Habits also don’t sync across devices. Not quite there yet as it’s still glitchy! Update: I tried premium for a month to see if the experience is better - wasn’t ready to give up on this app yet but the premium features do not improve things. Can’t sync across devices. Can’t write back to reminders. Can set tasks in reminders but can’t sync back which kind of defeats the purpose of using a separate task planning app. Tasks sets in reminders do not display notes and times can’t be changed. Unfortunately I will be giving up on this app as it isn’t updated regularly so can’t even be sure new features will be added // I am trying out this new app because I like the simplicity and aesthetics. It’s actually pretty great - I’ve been using Tiimo until now but it’s too fussy and glitchy. The new Joi Planner does what I want but there are a few issues to iron out. 1. There is no way to duplicate tasks or events (an issue I also have with Tiimo that drives me nuts), 2. The wake up time can be changed in settings but always appears as 9am on the calendar, 3. The scrolling time selector for calendar events sometimes doesn’t allow you to select times within the full 24 hour span. To fix this you have to save the event and go back into it - which is not ideal, 4. One of the calendars I have deselected in settings is still showing up when I create events, 5. It would be good to have some colour code options or a coloured icon/circle to differentiate between calendars on the planner (ie. I can choose which calendar my event is created in but cannot see which calendar it’s in until I click through to the event) although this is not a dealbreaker.

Overall I really like this app. I would prefer to give feedback to the developer via email or ticket but there doesn’t appear to be an option for doing that. If these small issues are fixed I think it will be a great little planning app. Give it a try!

Nice 2.0 update

Appreciate the new drag and drop abilities and iCloud sync. One of the best daily planners for simplicity with a pleasing clean UI.

Suggestions for future updates:
- Daylight tracking (Apple Health)
- More recurring options for habits — every x days, etc.
- Reminder and Event notes displayed / can be edited
- Checkbox colors to reflect the color of the Reminder list or event calendar
- Habit categories, groups or tags with a filter option on the home page
- Daily notes feature that sits at the top of day view for adding a note/jounral to any day
- Additional colorful app icon choices (yellow, orange, green, etc.)

Look forward to how the app evolves.
