Military

Used Julian date in the Air Force for 34 years. All aircraft maintenance records were recorded by Julian dates and still are as far as I know.

Could be improved

1. When open, it should keep time with the clock.
2. If not #1, then provide a one-touch update
3. Improve contrast and readability or offer options.

FAQ

What does the Julian Date app do?

This app converts standard calendar dates into Julian dates and vice versa. It offers two main modes: a 5-digit Julian date conversion and a full Julian date conversion that includes time.

What are the key features of the Julian Date app?

The app allows you to get the 5-digit Julian date (year and day number) from a calendar date. It also provides a full Julian date conversion, which includes the time of day, and lets you convert Julian dates back to their corresponding calendar dates.

How much does the Julian Date app cost?

The app is a paid application. There are no in-app purchases or advertisements mentioned, indicating a one-time purchase for full functionality.

What is the difference between 5 Digit mode and Full Julian Date mode?

The 5 Digit mode converts a calendar date into a 5-digit Julian date, representing the year and the day number within that year. The Full Julian Date mode provides a more precise conversion, including the time of day, resulting in a longer numerical value.

Can I use this app to convert Julian dates back to standard calendar dates?

Yes, the app allows you to convert Julian dates back to their corresponding calendar dates. This feature works for both the 5-digit Julian date format and the full Julian date format.
