About

JumpRun is a GPS instrument for the ride to altitude. Set your exit point once. On the way up, JumpRun shows how far you are from it, how long the run in will take at your current ground speed, your height above the ground, your speed and your track - in figures large enough to read from a jump seat. Download the map for your drop zone once, on the ground. After that everything works with the doors closed and the phone in airplane mode - there is no signal to wait for and nothing to load while you climb. WHAT IT SHOWS Distance to the point and estimated time en route at your current ground speed Height above the ground, taken from the barometer Ground speed and track over the ground, in true bearings Time since takeoff A moving map with your track line and a ring around the point NO SETTING UP The pressure reference is recorded on the ground and fixed at takeoff. There is nothing to calibrate and no field elevation to enter. Takeoff and landing are detected on their own. Timers start and clear themselves. Nothing changes on its own in flight. Night mode is switched by hand, never by a clock or a sunset. MAPS Get the map for anywhere on earth - from where you are standing, or from coordinates you type in. Each one covers 20 km around that point. As many as you want, at no cost: nothing to unlock, no subscription. Once an area is on the phone it never needs a signal again. Place names are not drawn. This is a map to read your position against, not a map for finding streets. POINTS Add points by coordinates or from where you are standing Nudge a point on the map when the spot moves, and return it to where it was first registered at any time A ring of 0.1, 0.2 or 0.3 miles around each point, set per point Distances in miles, nautical miles or kilometres FOR NIGHT AND FOR GLOVES Dark and red night modes, plus extra dimming for when the iPhone's own minimum brightness is still too bright Large figures, large controls, no animation to chase PRIVACY JumpRun collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. The only time it uses the network is when you ask it to fetch a map area, and even then it only reads: nothing about you is ever sent anywhere. Your points, settings and maps stay on the device. TRY IT ON THE GROUND Turn on the demo flight in Settings to see every instrument working against a simulated climb and jump run. IMPORTANT JumpRun is a recreational reference tool. It is not an aviation navigation instrument and has not been certified, tested or approved by any aviation authority. It is not a substitute for a certified altimeter, an audible altimeter or aircraft instruments, and it does not replace your own altitude awareness. Every decision about a jump remains yours and your pilot's, made under the rules of your drop zone and your national authority. Requires iPhone with iOS 16 or later. A barometer is used where the device has one; where it does not, height comes from GPS.

• "Keep screen on" now does exactly that: with it on, the screen stays awake on the ground too, so it no longer goes dark and asks for your passcode after landing. • With it off, the screen still stays on from takeoff to landing — you will never lose the instruments in the aircraft.
