Suggeted to sports lovers!!
Took my money and never refunded me
I signed up for a Footy 7s league with this app. They charged me $235. A week before the league was supposed to start they told me there was no spot for me and offered to refund the money I paid. But the refund never arrived. I followed up via the in-app chat and then also via email and they kept promising to pay the refund but never paid it. It has been 3 months and still no refund. Very disappointing experience.

Easy to use app and friendly support
App freezes on 2nd opening
Once downloaded it works, then when you exit the app and come back in, it just freezes and doesn’t load. Terrible

Troubling and Concerning App
I used the app to sign up at a local sport comp and initially everything seemed fine and dandy.
After using the app for a season, I noticed that it has been tracking my location to mark my attendance at games. (I forgot to mark myself as unavailable for a game and received a notification a few days later to say I would be charged a no-show fee of $15, as per terms and conditions. There is no other way they could possibly know I wasn’t there, other than by tracking my location.)
I do not recall consenting to the app having access to my location. I could not find anything in the terms and conditions or privacy statement which mentions the app tracking my location. I don’t remember ticking the “allow Justplay to access my location” button either.
Additionally, they have no telephone, and it is very difficult to get in contact with a real person through the app. Only weird chat bots.
Very frustrating to use. We had difficultly getting female players... it was a shermozzle.
Additionally, all fees are non-refundable and the app organisers can charge you at any time. A friend of mine was recently charged $200 for a season he did not sign up to. Possibly the developers need to check that their system hasn’t been hacked.

Parasitic app ruining social sport
Just Play is just amazing. A service no one needed, which somehow manages to make social sport much more expensive and much less social, in an app that does nothing well! 10/10 guys.
Great app and experience
Had a friend recommend this to me when I moved as a way to meet people. Was nervous in the few weeks before season started and ahead of the first game but my teammates are lovely and have made a couple of new friends from it. App makes it easy to chat to support + check game details and RSVP too.
Needs to be better organised
Well since I was asked to write a review, the last 2 competitions I’ve joined up for were canceled back to back. This is despite it saying there were less than 3 places left when I signed up (which must be false because on both occasions I was told it was cancelled due to insufficient people…how can there be insufficient people of there were only 3 places left?…either the reason is a lie, or the places available is misleading, it must be one). Not to mention my $200 has been held this entire time…you can get it back, but they’ve been holding your $200 for the entire time. It is a good concept, but clearly needs some work.

Great idea, but pretty bad execution. No accountability.
I registered for a team then it was cancelled two days before it was due to start. Was issued with a credit, which meant I then had to wait weeks for another comp to open up, registered for another comp that was cheaper, no refund offered on the balance.
Now I’m in a comp and have only had a full team show up once. One game was forfeited 15 minutes before it started. No offer of a refund even though I didn’t get to play the game.

Quick and easy way to find a team and get playing
I didn’t have a stable team where I could play regularly. Was looking to join any existing team that play at venues close to me. Got the reference to Justplay app from my local sport centre. And found that you can easily join the team in a season over the app, and justplay team will allocate you. Justplay have a few teams registered at many venues, and places in teams are dynamically available, so if you’re lucky, you can get into play for one or few games immediately if place is available. Or you can sign up for a full next season with the team (you’ll need to wait a bit until next season begins). Overall the app is very good, and Justplay team does a great job to get you in a team and play your sport. I really appreciate their effort!

Odd design
The app is easy to use, however there is no functionality to Message your team which makes it very difficult to stay in touch with others. Automation prompts aren’t quite there as I often receive messages to fill in for my own team when I have already registered to play.
Misleading and disappointing
App claims that competitions have limited places remaining, so I registered and paid only for competition to be cancelled. This happened multiple times, chat staff are responsive but are very vague around specifics and only want you to try to sign up again.
Disappointed
Have been playing for a season at Knox basketball, one of 2 players who actually turned up every game, we struggled to fill a team every week and I asked for a reliable friend to assist and join but was told the team is full so we had to play with 5 almost every game, I flagged these issues with the just play team and was effectively taken off the roster and now told can’t play for 3 months at a completely different Venue… very frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend using this app

Great app for games
I play female basketball and is great find games around the city.
Great concept supported by a well-made app
As I arrived in Australia in January 2022 not knowing much people, I looked for options to practice team sports and meet people. I quickly found Just Play as a convenient solution for that, and that discovery has definitely been worth it ! The app works perfectly well and is very cleverly-made (simple click to show whenever I’m not available, free spots automatically added into One Game to complete the team etc.). The price is definitely worth it and I’m really happy to alternate seasons in Just Play and one shot games in One Game whenever I’m free. Also, I have to add that the support team is really responsive and helpful, whenever I’ve had an issue they’ve been able to help within the day.
Coming from France, I’ve never heard about such an app there, you probably have a market to conquer :)

Management issues
I did a review on this app awhile go and my thoughts on some features to add to the app which my opt would make it better and not just see what time games starts.
However I have to put this in because it’s just getting frustrating to see that game times have been changed at the very last minute or on game days. Also we had a scenario where all of my teammates arrived ready to play, to then have the ref showed us a text saying the team forfeited. It’s frustrating to the players who has to travel a fair bit in traffic or rush over to find the disappointment of no game when they arrive.
Management isn’t perfect. But this has been happening so many times. Especially with the time changes. I love what you guys are providing but this needs to be addressed

Casual play
I paid casual on the web so I thought I am all set. When I turned up on the stadium the app wouldnt show my game. I tried to log on on my phone using safari but it kept taking me back to the app. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to play because after paying it didnt show my team. I tried incognito mode and thats where I saw my game and team(luckily). Going back to the web it says it will be replaced by the app and I think that’s a bad move. The app doesnt seem to be 100% ready. Overall the experience was good though. To be able to play pick up without having the commitment.
