This update is about the first five minutes — and about staying in control of your own data. GET GOING IN THREE TAPS Setting up your first hand-off used to mean a walkthrough that created nothing, then a form. Now there's Quick Start: who it's for, what's happening, when. Three taps, every answer a tap on a labelled icon or a real time like "This evening · 6:30 PM". No empty forms, no date wheels. You finish with a real child and a real hand-off on Today — not a demo. • Tap "Create your first hand-off" on Today to try it • Finish on a plain-words summary, and hear the safety alarm once if you want to know the sound JOIN WITH A CODE Sending an invite link means the other parent has to open it in a browser, which doesn't always work — a different phone, a locked-down device, a link that opens the wrong place. Now you can share a join code instead: they tap "I have a join code", paste, and they're in. No link, no browser, no account. Find it on the invite screen or in Family. REINSTALL WITHOUT LOSING YOURSELF If you reinstalled Justoo and rejoined your family, you could end up on the roster twice — with all your hand-offs, history and messages stuck on the version of you that no longer had a phone. That's fixed. Justoo now recognises your iCloud account and puts you back into your existing place, so everything that was yours is still yours. Nothing is duplicated, and rejoining doesn't use up a spot in your family. If you started the family and reinstalled, Justoo offers to bring the whole household back instead of starting a new one. DELETE MY DATA Anyone can now leave and erase themselves without harming the family — a grandparent stepping out, a sitter finishing up, or you closing your side. Your hand-offs become unassigned so nothing is silently dropped, chores stay ticked but stop being credited to you, and this phone is wiped back to a fresh install. Children, places, hand-offs, chores and lists always stay with the people who remain. Deleting your own messages is a separate choice you make yourself — the shared record is deliberately unchangeable, because both of you may need it later. It's in Settings, and it's never hidden behind an "advanced" menu. A CALMER APP TO LEARN Fewer decisions on every screen. The first one offers two paths and nothing else: start a family, or join one. Settings and Family lead with the essentials and tuck the tuning away behind "Show advanced options", which you can pin open for good once you want it. The hand-off editor shows what matters and keeps the rest under "More options" — and expands automatically when you're editing something that already uses it. A brand-new Today no longer stacks up cards for features you haven't reached yet. MORE RELIABLE SYNC Fixed a problem that could stop a household syncing entirely. Errors now say what actually went wrong and what to do about it, instead of a generic apology. Better behaviour in landscape, clearer wording throughout, and a larger automated test suite guarding every release. IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ Justoo is a coordination and support utility for parents. It helps you and your co-parent stay in sync and flags a hand-off that looks unconfirmed. It does not supervise your child, cannot guarantee that any alert will arrive, and is not a substitute for your own attention and judgment. You are always the responsible adult for your child's care and safety. Alerts depend on things outside this app: iOS itself, the notification and location permissions you've granted, your Focus and ringer settings, battery level, network and iCloud availability, and both phones being switched on and reachable. A phone that is off, out of battery, out of signal, or signed out of iCloud will not receive anything. Never treat a quiet phone as confirmation that everything is fine — check directly. Your data stays in your and your family's iCloud. No Justoo servers, no tracking.
