The ONLY way i do wanikani
I wanted an anki mode since i hate practice using wanikani’s website. This is the PERFECT solution as it make it 10 times easier to review. One thing i hope they add is an undo button/gesture (maybe there is and i dont know how to enable it).

I love using this app for all my reviews! I love the games as well. I just wish I could do listening practice on the iPad version.
Great Developer
Picked this app up 4 months ago. The experience is genuinely so much better than desktop WaniKani that I had to leave a good review. The developer keeps adding useful features and is quite active in debugging. I don’t think I’ve had a serious issue yet and the few minor issues have been resolved within a few days.

Indispensable
I really can’t do wanikani without this app anymore. I first tried it out when Tsurukame stopped working, and it’s leaps and bounds better. Anki mode with combined meaning & reading, as well as being able to simply tap left or right to mark correct or incorrect make my reviews go so quickly. I’m doing more wanikani than I have in years and years. I think I’ll actually make it to level 60 this time. I love the feature that pulls clips from anime for context! I also love how easy it is to see similar or related words, visually similar kanji, etc.

I’ve been using this app almost every day for over a month now and I love it! The interface is very intuitive and everything is so customizable. I’d totally recommend it to anyone wanting to learn kanji & vocabulary! Huge thanks to the developers who made it.

The number of features as well as the high quality at which they are all implemented is truly astounding and praiseworthy! The interface is very user-friendly, and information is easily accessible and well-presented to support language learning. The app also allows for a lot of customization, which makes sense, as individuals have different preferences for how they learn, yet by default, the app is simple and understandable, so it’s very easy to get started building study habits with a very short set-up process. Best 3rd Party Wanikani App
Highly recommend this app - was using an older third party app for quite some time, and this is far superior. Developer is active in the Wanikani community and makes updates as requested through that message board. Entirely outstanding, every thanks to the dev, who seems to be some kind of wizard.

I had an older WK app I was using, but it just wasn’t living up to my expectations. So every few months I’d see if any new ones had been made. Each month would pass and I would be left without a new alternative.
Until I saw Kakehashi pop up. I’ve been waving an app that looked good, had great functions, and had some of the new WK dashboard and photo mnemonics.
This app delivers on all of that and then some….then A LOT, really.
It has built in news, EPUB, and music integrations and they show you kanji you’ve studied and what levels the others you don’t know yet are on.
It’s honestly a perfect app. I can’t believe how many great features there are packed in here. AND FOR FREE?! It’s a miracle!
Then you Pedro. You are going to single handily transform my Japanese journey with this app!

Best WK App
Hands down the unequivocal best wanikani app I’ve found. No need to mess with plugins and it gives far more information than the base site. On top of added features like graded news articles aimed at your current kanji level, it’s a huge asset to any student of kanji.

Used a few WaniKani apps before for reviews and lessons on the go, but this is by far the best. So many useful tools to customise learning and reviews. The news feature is also really pleasing to see how much kanji you currently know.

This is by far the best Wanikani app available for iOS. The dev adds features at a breakneck pace, it feels like almost every day there is another over the air update. At this point it does all I want from a Wanikani app and so much more.
